Michigan has never had a Black coach. Sherrone Moore, the former head football coach at the University of Michigan, was born on February 3, 1986, in Derby, Kansas, to parents who immigrated from Trinidad🇹🇹 and Tobago. Black Americans have absolutely nothing to do with this. He is not a Black American, normalize knowing just because they are melanated doesn't mean they are Foundational Black Americans.

If the allegations against Sherrone Moore are true... As a husband, a father, and the first black head coach in Michigan’s storied history, Sherrone Moore’s conduct fell short of the standards his position requires and symbolizes. As the head coach of a prestigious college football program like Michigan, the university, alumni, and fans expect leadership grounded in responsibility, integrity, and accountability. Sadly, his actions contradict those expectations—fairly or unfairly—his conduct struck fans and observers as irresponsible and even egregious. The letdown came not only from trying to reconcile his poor judgment as a husband and father while holding such a distinguished position but from the gap between what he represented and what people hoped he would embody.
