That being said, COOL if they're giving the team the freedom to do what they want with it and not controlling the decision pipeline or the end product, but if Ubisoft is funding this, it's not indie.

@Programancer I'm confused with something, wasn't cuphead funded by Xbox for the most part?I know it started small but a good chunck of it was funded,does it count as indie?Tbh I think being free of big company decisions on your project even tho they pay makes it indie in a way,but that's me

@Programancer This is virtually impossible, imho. Large companies will always have to care about their investors or stock price and will always have lines you do not cross, things you do not say, etc., etc. They are just using the indie label and alleged creative freedom as marketing.

@Programancer It is false advertising, yes. They're calling it indie because they know that gamers are gearing towards indie titles because that's the only hope for gaming's future. Let's just hope it turns out good, I guess.
