As the death toll exceeds 2,662 in Syria and 8,754 in Turkey, delivery of international aid to areas of Syria outside government control has been minimal in the critical immediate aftermath days, with local organizations left on their own.

Search and rescue operations are in progress across northern Syria and southern Turkey after 2 large earthquakes occurred, less than 12 hours apart. Currently reports estimate that over 1,500 people have been killed, and over 7,000 are injured.
