@dignitysdeath @smriiis_reading They don’t feel like a family though. For example, I struggle to think of a few scenes in the past 20 years where the Straw Hats had meaningful conversations unrelated to Luffy, fighting, or exposition. I like them individually as characters, but as a found family it’s weak.

Generally I would disagree because I feel like family should stick together.
But most of my favorite series are based on found families so heck yeah.

@dignitysdeath @smriiis_reading The One Piece found family is not all it’s cracked up to be. Unless it’s involving Luffy, the Straw Hats rarely have any meaningful connections between each other.

@_duckzyy @eidafansarchive @Hakuba_Alt Then don’t say he’s been developing this plot point for years. Even if it’s something he’s wanted to do for a long time doesn’t mean he’s properly set it up in the story. People saying the transformation came out of nowhere are completely justified.

Most of the Gear 5 foreshadowing is just the fandom trying to justify it, while the only concrete foreshadowing was within a few chapters of its reveal.

Just saw TADC episode 9
First of all, it was really good and I liked how it was a bittersweet ending.
However I do think it could have benefited from giving characters other than Jax a bit more time to shine.
It being 20 minutes too short is probably my only complaint.
