🚨During his Good Friday veto spree, @GovEvers struck down SB 389, which would have ended his 400-year property tax hike. “My 400-year veto is here to stay,” Evers said. I thought the whole point of the “No Kings” protests was to oppose this kind of power.

Good to be in Greendale with Milwaukee-area business owners and workers discussing how we will lower property taxes, cut red tape to reduce building costs, and end burdensome vehicle emissions testing. Wisconsin is a great state. We just need leadership to unlock its potential.

Drivers in southeastern Wisconsin shouldn’t be stuck with an outdated vehicle emissions test that ignores pollution from places like Chicago and forces costly repairs on those who can least afford them. As governor, I will end vehicle emissions testing.

61% in the @MULawPoll say the governor’s veto power has gone too far after @GovEvers’ 400-year property tax increase. The good news is voters can approve a constitutional amendment this November to prohibit future partial veto tax hikes. I will also end the 400-year increase.

Property and income taxes were lower when I left office than when I came into office. We need conservative leadership again to lower the tax burden as well as lower costs for power, housing, healthcare, and tuition.

Republicans should counter with a call of a special session to freeze property taxes, utility rates, and UW tuition. They should call it for April 15th.
