I think Tilak Varma's hundred is the best IPL hundred of all time. Many reasons, it didn't come on a flattie, he wasn't off to a 15-ball 40 start and most importantly, that hundred was scored without the powerplay cushion. Whether people like it or not, batting in the powerplay is far, far easier than batting outside the powerplay, which is why the job of a middle order batsman is far tougher than an opener in T20 cricket.
