Almost 1000 drones. A UNESCO world heritage site hit. A maternity hospital hit. Residential buildings hit. Several killed. Dozens injured. Barely registers on the news. This war must not be forgotten

Spain’s energy is cheaper because they generate much more of it from renewables, which have no ongoing fuel cost, and they’ve taken steps to stop expensive gas from setting the price of everything.
In the UK, even when electricity comes from wind or solar, the price is still often driven by gas which is traded globally so we end up paying international prices.
Spain 🇪🇸 has reduced its exposure to gas, while the UK 🇬🇧 is still tied to it.

Electricity prices have risen pretty much every year for over 20 years as we have added renewables. How can any rational person suggest that renewable energy might be cheap in future?

The EU gets a better trade deal with Australia than Britain did. Of course, the EU negotiates with the clout and leverage of being the world’s largest market. It gets better deals for its members than they’d get negotiating separately. Britain now misses out on that.

BLIMEY - there will doubtless and rightly be a lot of focus on the limit on overseas donations and the ban on crypto (tick to both) but in some ways might this be the most important paragraph in the Rycroft report on foreign interference in our politics (prompted in part by Russian funding of Farage Party)
“Separately, beyond these hostile state threats, I am also cognisant of a potential new threat: an emerging willingness of foreign actors and private citizens, including from allies like the United States, to interfere in, and influence, politics abroad in pursuit of their own agenda.”
In other words USA has joined Russia, China, Iran in seeking to subvert our democracy. Time to call them out !!! Perhaps JD Vance could pop in for a chat after his campaign stop in Hungary
