Das sind noch keine amtlichen Ergebnisse - das ungarische Wahlsystem gibt seine Geheimnisse langsam preis, und die entscheidende Frage, ob es für eine Zweidrittelmehrheit reicht, hängt an den Direktmandaten. Orbán hat das Wahlrecht nicht umsonst jahrelang nach Maß geschneidert. Aber 55 zu 38 - das ist keine Momentaufnahme. Das ist schon mal eine Ansage. 👏

In Ungarn dauert das - und eure Ungeduld ist völlig berechtigt - aber leider systembedingt! In Ungarn gibt es weder Exit Polls noch Hochrechnungen. Stattdessen direkt echte Teilergebnisse, sobald die Auszählung beginnt. Das ist Also kein statistisches Raten, sondern echte Zählungen - die dann aber langsam reintröpfeln. Die Wahllokale haben um 19 Uhr geschlossen, erste Ergebnisse werden gegen 20 Uhr erwartet. Und selbst die ersten eintreffenden Zahlen sind noch mit Vorsicht zu genießen - verlässliche Ergebnisse werden voraussichtlich erst gegen Mitternacht vorliegen. Die Behörden gehen davon aus, dass bis Sonntagabend etwa 92-95 % der Stimmen für die Parteilisten und 94-97 % der Stimmen für die Wahlkreise ausgezählt sein werden. Was wir aber schon wissen: Die Wahlbeteiligung war rekordverdächtig - vier Stunden vor Schließung hatten bereits 66 Prozent abgestimmt, deutlich mehr als 2022 mit 52,75 Prozent zu diesem Zeitpunkt. Und die letzte Vorwahlprognose: Das Institut Médian, das als eines der zuverlässigsten in Ungarn gilt, sah Tisza auf Kurs für 138-142 der 199 Sitze - Zweidrittelmehrheit liegt bei 133. Fidesz käme demnach auf nur 49-55 Sitze. Also: Noch knapp Stunde warten. Aber die hohe Wahlbeteiligung gilt gemeinhin als schlechtes Zeichen für Orbán - seine Stammwähler auf dem Land gehen verlässlich hin, Mobilisierung der Städter ist eher Magyars Terrain.

This JD Vance visit to Hungary just days before the election, along with Donald Trump’s endorsement, might be the kiss of death for Viktor Orban. Trump is already unpopular in Europe, with tariffs, ties to Vladimir Putin, and constant hits on NATO countries. Add an unpopular Iran war that’s making the energy crisis even worse, and it’s hard to see this winning Orban any votes.

JD Vance accuses Ukrainian intelligence of “interfering” in elections in Hungary and the US. Meanwhile, a foreign dude - who also happens to be the Vice President of the United States - flies in days before the vote to tell Hungarians how they should vote. With promises that if Orban wins again, Hungary will get Trump’s support and everything will be just fine. Interference? Never heard of it.

JD Vance says Trump and Orban have done the most to end the war in Ukraine. Might as well include Putin while we’re at it.
