Since a generic Dem is beating Susan Collins by 10 points in at least one poll, 8 points better than the candidate they half-vetted, perhaps these folks could have some introspection on their ability to discern what voters want.

Graham Platner was recruited to run for Senate by a pair of socialist political operatives, Daniel Moraff and Leanne Fan, who determined that another prospective candidate had “a skeleton in the closet.” The Wall Street Journal published a rare interview with the duo on Sunday who revealed they paid “a whole chunk of money” to vet Platner but managed to turn up neither his Nazi ink nor many of his Reddit posts.

@TrinityMustache I want Biden 2024 precedent to be followed here. Remember how Biden was pushed aside because of one bad debate. Platner is 20x worse than Biden. Platner directly killed people on hands but he said "AIPAC bad" blah blah blah. That's it. Nothing mattered to them.

Even if Graham Platner wins the primary tomorrow, that is not the end. Under Maine law, if he drops out in the next month, the Democratic Party can choose a replacement—perhaps one of the popular gubernatorial candidates. This is why Collins will be pulling punches a bit longer

Yes I've seen the reddit posts, yes I've seen the tattoo, and those things are bad, but what's even worse is allowing Susan Collins to be a rubber stamp on Trump's agenda that harms women and children and working people. The importance of stopping trump outweighs Graham's transgressions. See how easy that is?? You don't have to debase yourself. Just be honest about it.
