Oxford students in full revolt over ban on transgender rowers in the Women’s Boat Race. The Oxford University Boat Club has enforced British Rowing’s 2023 rules: only those assigned female at birth can now compete in women’s events. Trans and non-binary athletes must race in the Open category or sit out. College boat clubs are furious. Wadham called the move “disproportionate, discriminatory and impossible to enforce” and vowed to fight for the old rules. Somerville said it threatens their “values of inclusivity and friendship.” The Oxford University Rowing Clubs website has been rebranded with the transgender pride flag in protest. Captains voted 49-1 against the new policy and 24-8 against competing under it. The university says it must follow national governing body rules or lose club status and the right to hold competitions. Cambridge brought in the same ban last year. So no men to help them win eh?

Gym influencer Chloe Wright mocked a stranger rowing at the gym, giggling on camera before posting it with a sarcastic caption that backfired spectacularly. Chloe, wife of Suave Activewear founder Connor Wright, filmed the man working out on the rowing machine and wrote: “Turns out me and em have been doing the rower wrong all these years!” Fitness star Joey Swoll slammed her for shaming the man and filming without consent, sparking huge backlash. The original video was quickly deleted. Chloe later apologised on TikTok, admitting it was “thoughtless and stupid” and that “the gym is a very vulnerable place” she should never have violated. Her husband Connor also posted, saying they’ve both learnt a hard lesson about public posting and “we have violated that trust.” Chloe promised: “I will do better.”

Katie Price says she has 'given up the search' for her missing husband Lee Andrews after a week of his bizarre disappearance in Dubai. On her podcast The Katie Price Show, the 47-year-old revealed she's stepping back "for her own sanity" and will no longer speak publicly about the case. She confirmed British police, the consulate, Foreign Office and Interpol are now handling the investigation. Katie cut her emotional update short when she received a live call from the police during the recording. Lee, 43, vanished last Wednesday after allegedly sending frantic messages claiming he had been arrested, cuffed and taken to a "black site" while trying to board a flight home. The saga continues

Boyfriend of teacher accused of murdering baby they were adopting told police hospital scene ‘felt like I was in a soap’ Jamie Varley, 37, a former secondary school teacher, and his partner John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, had Preston Davey, 13 months, placed with them for adoption in April 2023 after passing a full vetting process. On 27 July 2023 Preston collapsed at their Blackpool home after vomiting and going limp. He was rushed to hospital in cardiac arrest and could not be saved. Varley is accused of sexually abusing the toddler and then killing him. A post-mortem found more than 40 separate injuries, including internal throat damage consistent with sexual assault. In police interviews played in court, McGowan-Fazakerley described arriving at A&E as “hell” and said the whole scene “felt like I was in a soap”. He told officers Varley was “running around like a headless chicken” screaming it was all his fault while medics fought to save the baby. Both men deny all charges. The trial continues at Preston Crown Court.
