@EliasGravesLit I imagine your mom also had some thoughts about the fact she was living like that when she/those just older than her had just experienced the roaring 20s. Just because Gen Z doesn’t have dirt floors, doesn’t mean they can’t be upset about the same type of economic downturn.

Dear Gen Z: My mother ate LARD sandwiches when she was a girl. She lived in a dirt floor shack with no electricity or indoor plumbing. She wore dresses made from flour sacks. Fuck you and your whining about the cost of a mocha latte.

@mapleblooded A good trope is they love to bring up being so hard they “did x job for 30 years” then say gen-z “wouldn’t last a week”. Ah yes this task that humans have been doing for hundreds of gens before you, but you were the last gen to have the physical capability of doing it.

Only 3% of American Boomers saw active military service. The rest haven’t even seen the inside of a gym while they consumed Captain Highliner Fishsticks and tubs of Chefmaster margarine. But they are tough as nails. Just ask them.

@RealRiddimHours But imo there are better ways to evaluate than seeing if you can run a 24 min 4 mile while simultaneously having functional strength. But I’m also not that guy so who am I to say.

@RealRiddimHours They’d have to feel a type of way about it, especially if they spend any time talking to the older guys. I have a bro who made it that is, rotund, and always has been. There are run time req’s now that would wash him out in the first two weeks. Tough as hell, not a marathoner.

Do modern day SOF candidates who wash out ever get crazy resentment for how much “easier” the pipelines used to be? I feel like it would be hard not to feel that way

@RealRiddimHours NSW is what I’m referring to, and it’s the right way of doing it. I think raw numbers for a lot of programs are also influenced by how many guys they need to drop/make it through but I don’t know the under-the-hood well enough to comment on it or say that’s the driving factor.

The older I get, the more intolerable big social events where you have to get dressed up (ie, weddings) have become. And now that half the guests are drinking mineral water with lime instead of G&Ts, the level of intolerability has reached new heights.

Buy a ran-down home in the hood, work 70 hours a week, wash your own car, change your own oil, mow your own lawn, eat a pb&j for dinner, no entertainment, sleep 5 hours a night. This is the way. You just want everything handed out to you.
🌘ʀᴇᴠᴇɴᴀɴᴛ⚡@revenant_MMXX

"Washing your own car" is some of the most ridiculous Boomer nonsense there is. The time you spend doing it isn't even worth it on its own, not to mention buying the soap and proper tools to do it with. Even if it's cheaper, only an actual idiot would value money more than time.

@jc2339505924 @RealGame101 I’ve had this happen once before, and this was my take too. I just hit her with the “damn that sucks” and took it to mean she wasn’t going to be one of those “I regret sleeping with a 4 and now I’ll say it wasn’t consensual the next day”kinda jawns

@RealGame101 I have concluded from sad experience that this disclosure is in fact a 'move' by women. On the bright side it usually indicates she really does like you a lot and is trying to activate your caring / protector instincts to become more attached to her.

Interesting shit test I have encountered a few times they tell u they have been raped before Last night girl I pulled from bar did it and I was like “was it at least a little bit hot?” Luckily she thought it was funny But every time I hear that, idk what their desired outcome is (see if I blow past it and still try to fuck them?) But it kinda turns me off and even tho we are in my bed making out and clothes r coming off I stop escalating after that and just let it be platonic Maybe some gut-wisdom that if they’re the type to say that maybe I should do anything with them

@ljmontello Much like them acting like they never ate out, they pretend the fact that they did these types of renovations were necessary to make the home liveable, and equate that to telling us to buy a home without working plumbing or a cracked foundation.

@ljmontello My boomer parents moved through 4 houses in my childhood. They were all very turnkey, the only thing “starter” about any of them was they could afford the price point. The only DIY/Reno they did was for purely aesthetic reasons (mom wanted a blue bathtub instead of pink)

The Boomers are now trying to gaslight Gen-Z that they all bought starter homes with non-functional kitchens, bathrooms & roofs & DIYed everything. As someone who lived in the 80s & 90s I assure you, no they largely did NOT.

If you're looking at "starter homes" that don't require a significant amount of work to be livable, you're not looking at starter homes.

People online know literally nothing about PEDs. I trained harder than almost anyone i knew for 3 years straight to get from 145 to 205 without drugs and guys I knew that trained once a week and ate pizza and chicken fingers were 210 with abs in 5-6 months. Its night and day.

People who were able to have kids out of wedlock, divorce multiple times, maybe a couple of DUIs, alcoholism, cocaine habits and smoked 2 packs a day are telling young people that having a burrito bowl could ruin their life.
suburbs enjoyer@suburbs_enjoyer

@HoaryHead1611 Previous generations had the luxury of making bad decisions from time to time. I don’t think ordering overpriced take out should banish those from the housing market, but that’s too empathetic of me I guess.
