@MrMorleyMaths @mathsjem @ColleenYoung If you're looking at Further maths, then look into Extended maths from Edexcel. A level 2 qual. It has much more overlap from GCSE than FM. I found myself rushing through content after school with FM. Am now writing EM into curr to be delivered in lesson time with top sets

I'd be really interested in hearing from people who offer further maths GCSE. How do you work it? Just added into normal maths hours, additional hours after school/lunchtime, separate GCSE option? If separate, do you add in Stats as well? @mathsjem @ColleenYoung RTs welcome

@danicquinn Next year we are changing our Y10 curriculum order to try and delay the decision for tier of entry until Easter of Y10. This will involve teaching mostly overlap content until Easter. It's the first time we've tried this, but we're using Sparx curriculum to help map this.

The new Ofsted maths report critiques timing of tiering decisions a few times. When else could/should the main decisions be made? There is so much more content in Higher, you need to know whether or not to teach it, surely?

I thought that the OCR Higher Maths P4 yesterday was nice and accessible, whilst being suitably challenging for the more able pupils.

Today I started my tutor time Y11 intervention. It's with 14 students I don't normally teach. They are all working at a low Grade 4 on Higher tier according to our November mocks. I haven't been able to find many suitable tutor time intervention resources so will make my own. 1/n
