@TeflonViper You know I posted about Charlie Kirk dying being a bad thing, but trying to cancel druski over a bit is wild 😂
English

@Onepeg I hate that shit. He shouldn't be canceled, I just personally don't find it funny. Now his bit going to Nascar was entertaining. The making fun of a widow thing ain't for me.

EOD Clothing is finally in the game!
So if you have EOD or upgraded from EOD to unheard you will have this.

@KingPootPoot @JanOrszulik They banned over a million cs accounts YESTERDAY for botting my guy.
Do you think it’s a cybersec failure on valve when people get phished and hand over their account details in real time?
English

@Onepeg @JanOrszulik Valve is so secure when you ignore how much scamming, botting and account stealing happens in their games alone LOL and they refuse to help (despite the fact they EASILY can because of 'muh duping items' as if there's no way to stop that.)
English

This severely diminishes valve’s value add.
VoIP service, matchmaking, secure payment processing, a multitude of other turnkey backend services.
EVERY indie dev I have ever spoken with or that has spoken up about the “30%” has stated it is well worth alternatives.

English

@DoctorGester @LKSGTwentyFour @Raikaru00 You know… being pedantic about all of the other details and analogies presented to you and then attempting to be this diluted and obtuse with your own makes you look like a complete cunt. Js.
English

@LKSGTwentyFour @Raikaru00 @Onepeg It's fine, I actually can wish for multiple things at once, and I wish that both competition gets better and steam makes fees lower because I don't enjoy starting at 70% of my income just to pay taxes on top of that and get left with $100 in my bank account after making $100000.
English

@Onepeg @idiotpeach Sleep token isn't I know that's what you mean . Lol
English

@Raikaru00 Brother info leaks are info leaks.
“Well it wasn’t the payment processing” yes sure.
But nfn I’ll take ZERO DATA over SOME DATA no?
A better track record is still a better track record
English

@Onepeg The easiest way to fix this is have epic step up their game. The epic game store needs to be better to compete then ppl may leave steam
English

@Raikaru00 Sure, until you look at the backlog and see that valve hasn’t had a data breach since 2003 and people are getting data alerts related to epic several times and a class action suit within just the last handful of years.
English

@Onepeg As someone who has never given Epic a cent, most games don’t use the first two and literally every storefront has secure payment processing. Hell a random website selling some niche hobby stuff has secure payment processing. This isn’t some crazy value add in 2026

Indie devs know about this stuff, consumers dont.
BECAUSE of how good the implementation is.
When a network stack is so cleanly implemented you dont know its there, thats a really fucking good network stack.

@SirDustyDirks Welp you’re gonna get ratioed into the dirt. Sorry in advance

Valve veteran slams Tim Sweeney and Epic Games for laying off 1000 people while making 'as much money as possible… and hey Tim, Gabe's better at that than you' pcgamer.com/gaming-industr…
English

@JanOrszulik I already did. I assume English isn’t your first language, but it’s pretty plain.
EGS has less currency alternatives than Steam, globally. They try to run aggressive discount campaigns to beat Steam pricing on occasion but that doesn’t always work due to currency exchanges.
English

@Onepeg Ok then please explain me in non anecdotal evidence how is regional steam pricing system better please.
English

Then don’t use it Jan.
Your anecdotal evidence of your own currency doesn’t negate the fact of what I said. It’s still more robust.
You can be the guy that says otherwise, and Steam will still perpetually be the #1 marketplace for games because NO ONE does it better.
IF THEY DID actually offer solid competition instead of just trying to BUY game listings, Epic could force Steam to reevaluate its pricing, but they don’t.
Tim Sweeney fucked up, and valve is better at what EGS is trying to do in every conceivable metric.
English

Funnily my Valve account is only account I had that got stolen and sold. I remember there was one "Epic leak" that turned out to be mass email hijack used to steal various accounts of given users, EGS account included.
Valve's "superior" regional pricing doesn't even include my currency. EGS do. In both cases prices for regions are set by developers so which part specifically you see superior?
EOS reported inferior by who? I know about Steam exclusive game that uses EOS.
EGS as well has achievement system, supports DLC, which widely used anti cheat are you actually referring to?
You started with "indie games" and then you keep bringing "multiplayer services", while minority of Indie games are MP (loving Mp games btw). As I've said in different comment if Valve would scale their rev share based on utilized services that would actually make sense.
Review system is complex topic, I wouldn't simplify EGS system to star system, it asks user to rate various categories AS they keep playing the game. Valve's system is again and again proving to be vulnerable to various manipulation techniques.
About community HUB, see this is interesting topic, while I see value in it I remember when it started and there was this worries that various games will start losing their communits in favor of "steam community", looking at it back it's clear it wasn't unfounded.
EGS being more intense then Valve's chromium nightmare client? I mean we can actually look into that one if you want, I have quite a lot of doubts on that one. Controller? I guess?
Sure please continue because nothing you said so far comes anywhere close to 30%. Imagine any game you want, remove 30% of it, not just 30% of content, actually 30%. Is it worth it?
English

@JrodicusZ It’s fucking crazy to me.
“Hey John. Walmart wants to put your little widget on the shelves in the store but instead of your usual 30% margin they can only do 16%”
“Man I dunno… we sold 250k units last year without them”
“They’re doing a PO for 700k units”
“Oh…”
Idiots
English

@Onepeg I will never understand people who demonize steam over the 30% thing. That’s how they pay for the platform with several tools that nobody else has got close to matching. Also Epic thought the Fortnite VBucks would cover them and the platform is still shit. Valve is pro consumer
English

@JanOrszulik Portal revolution? Battlegrounds 3?
How many unoptimized lumen/nanite ramrod UE5 projects get pushed by people trying to make fast money?
Your red herring also doesn’t say anything anyway.
Plenty of UE5 projects release on Steam. They’d be stupid not to
English

Ok Jan. Let’s address that. Epic has had security flaws that have either leaked usernames and passwords or outright had people get their Fortnite accounts hijacked as recently as 2019 to the tune of hundreds of thousands to over a million accounts compromised. There was a class action lawsuit over it.
Mastercard and Norton warned people of a data leak associated with their epic accounts to the tune of millions more.
Know how many valve has had? Zero.
Also Steam offers regional pricing that is far superior to EGS, as EGS will very commonly state pricing in USD, GBP, or EUR instead of a country’s local currency.
EGS’s backend is in its comparative infancy. EOS’ systems enabling cross play etc has been repeatedly reported as inferior to valve’s systems. It doesn’t work well.
Valve’s API accessible achievement systems, DLC, anti-cheat, steamworks, and workshop backends are also SIGNIFICANTLY better than what EGS offers.
This doesn’t even include the multitude of services provided to multiplayer games which you for whatever reason decided to conveniently omit as if no one finds that valuable.
Regardless, EGS STILL TO THIS DAY does not allow for authored reviews by gamers and instead utilizes a star rating system and aggregates critic reviews via OpenCritic rather than letting gamers voice their own opinions.
NOR does it have a community hub.
and the EGS client is more resource intensive than Steam’s and the mfer still doesn’t offer advanced controller support anywhere close to what Steam provides for players.
Would you like me to continue or can we just agree that EGS compared to Steam is like comparing SHEIN to Gucci…?
English

@Onepeg And you drastically overestimate it. First of all "secure payment processing", is that suppose to imply Epic's payment isn't secure? That would be absurd. For rest, Epic offers whole Epic Online Services (for free) onlineservices.epicgames.com/?lang=en-US What Valve does is not "matchmaking"...
English

@Onepeg On top of it Epic provides whole damn Engine and literally nothing Valve does comes anywhere near close to it, 5% rev, 0% for EGS sales

@thepoolshark @MaphraMusic Her cover of that BMTH song she did like a month ago is at 7M plays on Spotify and 10M on YouTube and is currently charted on billboard.
Shes so, so good.
