Live streaming is a massive part of YouTube, and that’s because of the @youtubecreators who build incredible communities on our platform.
We’re rolling out some major updates to YouTube Live to improve the experience and help creators make more money:
↔️We're expanding Gifts to horizontal live streams on mobile (in addition to vertical), so you can unlock new earning opportunities and real-time interaction across all stream formats.
🌐We’re bringing Gifts to more creators and viewers worldwide. They're now rolling out in 🇨🇦🇰🇷🇮🇩🇹🇭🇦🇺🇳🇿 and more, giving you the ability to monetize a much larger audience.
🤝You can now stream in both vertical and horizontal formats at the same time. This maximizes your reach across different devices while uniting your audience in a single, shared live chat.
✋To keep the momentum going on your streams, we’ll now automatically recognize when live chat engagement is at its peak and hold back ads for everyone.

everyone under 25: take care of your body. once you surpass 25, your body is not as resilient. you can no longer eat hot cheetos and pull all nighters like you used to. take vitamins, drink your water, rest, make doc appointments. life is too hectic to not be healthy.

thinking about what the internet was like when justin bieber uploaded that first cover. youtube was three years old. twitter was two. instagram didn’t exist yet. tiktok wouldn’t exist for another decade. there were no “creators.” there was no creator economy. there was no algorithm feeding you a personalized slurry of content engineered to keep you scrolling for eleven more seconds. there was jus a website where people put videos, and sometimes those videos reached everyone and changed the creators life. this performance is a memorial for the internet we lost.

I watched a popstar who grew up in front of the world fully transcend into his artistry last night. I watched someone who gave us his all, his whole life.. finally nourish hisself. I have no pictures or videos because I was fully present in the moment. Justin invited us and whoever chose to come with him was blessed with a beautiful ride. When you use your gift for God, it will make people uncomfortable. But that’s OK because the ones who stick beside you will feel the love. Thank you

Can’t believe I’m posting for the first time since leaving Team 10 to comment on Justin’s Coachella set lol…
Anyone calling it lazy is missing the business.
He sold his publishing and artist royalties to Hipgnosis in 2023. UMG owns the master recordings. Every minute he spends performing the old catalog is a minute he's putting in work for other people's royalty checks.
Playing the YouTube videos costs him nothing. No band, no backup singers, little production. Fans still get records like Baby, Sorry, Beauty and a Beat, and Never Say Never. All the nostalgia, none of the overhead. He saved his actual performance for Swag, which is the era he owns.
He also got discovered uploading videos to YouTube as a kid. A laptop on the main stage is the most intimate, on-brand, and authentic thing he could've done.
And he's in a completely new chapter doing it the way he wants. No Scooter, new team, new business structure. Full control for the first time in his career.
If you didn't like it, you're just not a Belieber 🤷🏼♂️

my biggest advice if you’re thinking about going full-time with content:
be ready for serious inconsistency.
some months will feel incredible... and others will feel genuinely scary. that’s the part people don’t talk about enough and it’s so easy to underestimate.
before you take the leap, build a safety net. at least 3 months of expenses (ideally more) - that cushion changes everything.
it takes the pressure off and stops a few bad months from feeling like you’re drowning.
