More fuel relief for motorists was also announced under a new agreement with states and territories. Reduction of GST on fuel will lower fuel costs further and ease pressure on households. The total reduction in excise on petrol and diesel will now be 32 cents per litre.
Together with our National Fuel Security Plan, these measures will:

• Help keep everyday costs more stable
At the same time, the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge has temporarily been reduced to zero, cutting operating costs for the freight and logistics sector — the trucks that deliver fuel, food and everyday essentials across Australia.
