🇧🇧 CAF has presented the findings of a comprehensive Regional Water Diagnostic Study on the state of water in the Caribbean, during a high-level technical workshop held in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The Regional Water Diagnostic Study reveals urgent water security challenges in twelve Caribbean nations and provides more detailed analysis on the critical gaps in access to the resource, efficiency, and infrastructure gaps, and recommends immediate investment in innovative, climate-resilient solutions.
To develop an actionable roadmap, CAF hosted a High-Level Technical Workshop on Water and Sanitation in Bridgetown on April 8–9, 2025. Senior officials from twelve Caribbean water authorities and representatives from multilateral development partners — including @CDB, @CDF, @IDB, @World Bank, and the @EU — came together to exchange knowledge and prioritise important projects for financing.
CAF’s Regional Water Diagnostic identifies the need for a coordinated regional response.
Key findings:
🔹Several nations are already facing water scarcity — with some approaching absolute scarcity.
🔹Infrastructure gaps and inefficiencies are worsening shortages.
🔹Climate change and expanding industries will escalate pressure without urgent action.
CAF is committed to unlocking innovative financing options to support the Caribbean in strengthening water security.

I've run a weekly smash/fgc meetup out of a card shop that routinely floods for the last 6 years. Everyone shows up the next week like nothing happened and says Thanks Bears.
