Life is too short to be serious all of the time. Most of you, my readers, spend a great deal of your lives learning how to achieve more. How to be better. How to work harder. How to improve results. Those things matter. But here is another question we we may not ask ourselves enough. Am I spending enough time just having fun? Fun does not have to earned. It does not have to be productive. It does not have to lead anywhere. Sometimes fun is simply a smile, a laugh, a shared moment, or a small pleasure that reminds you that you are alive. My mission is to help as many people as I can, includng you, have a little better life. You can help me achieve my mission! Sometime today, pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Smile for no reason at all. Enjoy where you are. You do not need permission from anyone else. Just permission from yourself. Life is good. Marshall

@mccarthyjim1 Yes, I also remember the story of VC++ launch with the orchestra and the other stories in the 21 rules of thumb.

I never mentioned this, it's a footnote grade thing, as it cools, but I think I was the first to detail telling stories as a team tool in software. One of my Rules of Thumb. 1995. We should talk about it sometime soon.
