MPD units are investigating a critical shooting in Northeast DC. 📍 1900 block of Benning Rd NE An adult male was located with gunshot wound injuries and has been transported in critical condition. The victim was reported to be unconscious and not breathing at the time of transport. Police are currently on scene investigating. This is a developing situation.

Members of the Crime Scene Unit and federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) removed evidence during the execution of a search warrant after a U.S. Park Police officer was shot in Southeast Washington, D.C., United States, on March 24, 2026. The officer was shot while inside an unmarked vehicle on the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place SE, around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to Park Police officials. U.S. Park Police were in the area investigating an earlier incident. Park Police state the officer was working undercover in a white Tesla when two suspects opened fire at his moving vehicle. The Metropolitan Police Department interim chief reports the Park Police officer was the only person in the car and drove himself about a half mile from Queens Stroll Place SE to Benning Road SE near its intersection with Southern Avenue. 21-year-old Darren Foster and 22-year-old Asheile Foster, both of Southeast Washington DC, were arrested for shooting a US Park Police officer last night on Queens Stroll Place SE. Both suspects are charged with Assault on a Federal Police Officer (Gun).

Looks like a LOT of shell casings on the ground at scene where a U.S. Park Police officer was shot Monday night in Southeast Washington D.C. Police say the officer was in an unmarked car when he was shot. Sounds like maybe they were already there working an investigation of some sort. He was transported via helicopter but fortunately his injuries are described now as NON-life threatening. A search is on for the shooter or shooters. New details have been released in the shooting of a U.S. Park Police officer in Southeast DC. 📍 5000 block of Queens Stroll Pl SE Authorities say the officer was conducting an investigation inside a white Tesla when two suspects opened fire on the vehicle, striking the officer. After being shot, the officer drove to Southern Ave & Benning Rd SE, where he was met by emergency crews. 🚁 The officer was then medevaced from a nearby field to a trauma center. Officials now report the officer is in stable condition. The search for the suspects is ongoing.
