@case_rsrch fascinating , does create an interesting uncorrelated opportunity. International law a little more scary but just more to read. I’m interested in the legal angle and have a bit of knowledge of the US system.

Has anyone else found some absolutely insane discounts looking at government-auctioned claims? so weird they let this slide

I should clarify. I was sort of throwing keywords together. Basically - imagine you owe $20k, gov forecloases on your house and auctions for $100k, that $80k belongs to you. However, in some states / other countries you can buy claims from the claimants, and can often negotiate pretty cheap.

This is excellent news. As a legal special sit investor, I look forward to picking up the remains of everyone's panic. And if things do go as bad as people think, we welcome the legal cases (although we recognise how tough it is on people).

Just met a sharp young kid focused on investor-state arbitrations and legally-driven specials. Not sure it’s empirically proven, but I still think as a basket these are massively underpriced—you could almost blindly buy them and make money. For an enterprising young investor, it’s a very interesting niche

Sometimes crypto feels like a joke — same KYC/AML, same cancel culture, just wrapped in a “decentralized” narrative.
Blockchain itself? Very real. Cheap transfers, weekend settlement, micropayments — that’s useful.
But do we need 10,000 tokens for that? Probably not. If you’re not Bitcoin, good luck.
Most of this is just rebuilding the existing financial system with extra steps… unless you’ve got real distribution and partnerships.

this is a pretty good take - anyone who went to Omaha last year will know how same-y it all is. Google and Uber were all we heard the whole trip (well, that and if buffet is retiring)
