Core Foundation has announced a partnership with Z Protocol, marking its first “franchise protocol.” Z Protocol is positioned as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 built for Zcash to expand application-layer capabilities and bring more onchain use cases. It will adopt Core’s “Satoshi Plus” consensus mechanism, allowing both Zcash stakers and PoW miners to participate in network security and validation. The team also plans to roll out core applications including private transactions, lending, a privacy-focused stablecoin USDZ, and yield-bearing tokens.
