@InfernoZard10 Arceus came first. Then he made the creation trio. They then made the universe, which Arceus populated with Mews. The Mews then became every other species of Pokemon over time, except for a tiny few who stayed as they were.

@InfernoZard10 Mew is what I call a Unused/Obsolete Idea, in the beginning of the Franchise Pokémon, humans and real animals coexisted in the same world, but Pokémon appeared last through evolution from animals so Mew was the first of them, that's why is the Pokémon "New Species"

@InfernoZard10 Arceus came first, created Mew, and since it was giving it all the DNA to eventually spread Pokemon all throughout the universe, it gave a part of its DNA to it as well for good measure. It’s essentially the phrase “God made man into his own image” but made more scientific
