@goldeneyedepot Honest guess? It was a bug or unfinished work having to do with texture assignment and alpha transparency materials. That looks like it's supposed to be some kind of sniper crosshair, not a window texture. It probably got yoinked because it wasn't meant to be there.

Nintendo Power #98, July 1997, shows Train once had a window with a white crosshair and concentric circles design. In the released game it's gone. It's not known why it was removed or why it wasn't replaced with standard breakable glass. The removal was a last minute change.

Under the Labor Theory of value, the game Concord should have been a great success, because of all the effort that went into making it. Looking at their characters, it's mind-boggling that they thought you'd play to be these awful cringe "heroes". I know Concord is old news now, but it is incredible. I was invariably on much smaller teams, but we apparently put a lot more effort into making our games look good to players. 1/2

One of my favorite tricks in Doom maps was to place a pedestal in the middle of an empty room with some valuable object on top. Then put a spotlight on it. The players all knew that all hell would break loose the moment they picked it up. It was so obviously a trap.

"Send me" implies a willing sacrifice.
However most of them were conscripts and not volunteers.
They didn't have a choice. "We'll go" was the sentiment. A reluctant duty.
The reality was that they were facing down a reluctant duty. That is what Americans need to remember. These were young men, almost children who were being sent to do something awful.
They are heroes because they did it even though they did not want to. That is what a hero is.
They desperately need them to be portrayed as willing sacrifices because it removes the burden of the older generations, who send the young to die. It makes them feel better about it. "Look at those boys, what heroes, dying for the life that I live and they will never experience."
