EGGS I am asked so many times if its OK to eat them? YES, YES, YES! As this meta analysis concludes 'eating more than one egg per day, on average, was associated with a DECREASED likelihood of coronary artery disease (approximately 11%)' Just eat real food!

Pale Blue Dot is a photo of Earth that was taken by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990 from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as it was leaving our solar system. This is what Carl Sagan said about the photo: "Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor, and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every 'superstar,' every 'supreme leader,' every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”

Unfortunately predicted by results of largest and most expensive ($700 million) clinical trial of low-fat dietary intervention ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…. You'd think that once it's been proven that low-fat diet doesn't work, cardiologists and nutritionists would simply stop promoting it. But apparently not. As @bigfatsurprise has been warning for more than a decade.

My mother had heart surgery to unblock arteries, a few months before her death, despite taking statins for 30 years and eating a low fat diet the entire time.

Wholegrain DASH diet looses out to low carb in an RCT WRT blood pressure, HbA1c & weight loss This fits with physiology & my ten years of clinical experience. Insulin causes weight gain & renal sodium retention putting BP up. Low carb is low insulin. Cutting carbs makes sense

I just met up with a newly graduated dietitian, she is type 1. I asked her about what she thought about very low carb diets. This is what I heard “I don’t like fad diets” “The brain needs 120g of carbs per day” “Your body will stop functioning without carbs” “Whole grains are complex carbs and they are very healthy” I asked her for evidence to support her statements, she said she will get back to me. I will keep you all informed at the citations I get back

As I have said many times: when Dutch farmers are being persecuted by their government-- to the point where they are protesting-- something has gone seriously astray. They are serious, conservative people (in that they are not natural activists). When they've been pushed to rebel, something evil is afoot.
Eva Vlaardingerbroek@EvaVlaar

🇳🇱 When asked if this Dutch farmer believed he would be able to pass on his farm to his children, he couldn’t hold back his tears. This is the heartbreaking reality of the #DutchFarmers in 2023. All because of Mark Rutte and his totalitarian land grab policies. ©@ongehoordnedtv

So, a father of a type1 diabetic child participates in BBC's Masterchef programme & makes a low-carb cake, explaining that it is sugar-free in support of his daughter. BBC receives a tornado of complaints accusing the participant of spreading misinformation about T1D!

Building an online community (for learning, improvement, action &/or practice) is different to just transacting with or "engaging" people. The most successful communities are built on trusting relationships, shared purpose & collaboration which need time & intention: blog.weareopen.coop/the-art-of-com… By @epilepticrabbit.
