people take Apple Pay for granted — in the olden days, to pay by telephone, you had to call up your bank manager and be like “goodest morning, may I perchance transfer seven shillings to the Starbucks Coffee Company” and then your latte would be cold by the time it arrived

and I’m not saying this because I’m pro-Apple — a lot of the stuff they do pisses me off but you can’t say that with a straight face when there are countless manufacturers building under-specced phones that will never see an OS update and just become e-waste

Developing anything for mobile browsers feels like playing a whack-a-mole game with non-standard behaviours that are only documented in Stack Overflow answers and in the GitHub issue trackers of random projects that got hit by these behaviours before I did
