South Australia was struck by more than 65,000 lightning strikes overnight, as a thunderous storm left more than 10,000 households without power at 6am this morning.
@SAPowerNetworks will be responding to outages throughout the day. Presently, 66 outages continue to affect just under 8,000 homes across the state.
Heavy downpours of up to 25mm also hit areas of SA, prompting a call to the @SA_SES every three minutes between 3:30am to 4:30am.
The Bureau of Meteorology has advised most of the activity has moved east, but stormy conditions should still be expected in the Adelaide area in the early afternoon.
