As temperatures begin to rise across North Carolina, agencies are coming together to help communities prepare. The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s State Resilience Office, in partnership with NCDHHS, the North Carolina State Climate Office and the National Weather Service, will host a virtual Heat Season Kick-Off Meeting on May 11 from 1 to 3 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will focus on helping local leaders, public health teams and communities get ready for the impacts of extreme heat.
