So proud of this team! Our mission @NEStatePatrol is to support all our allied partners, firefighters, pilots, soldiers, volunteers, ranchers, communities, to protect Nebraskans. We will be there until it’s safe and long after the fires are gone. One Team. One Purpose. One Nebraska. 🇺🇸

A Friday salute to everyone who's had a part in fighting the wildfires in western Nebraska. Such incredible work has been done this week. Troopers have been surveying fire areas with thermal drones to help identify hotspots. Here are some of those views.

Inspiring day in western Nebraska, Troop D, Ogallala and NorthPlatte checking in and visiting with the fire Incident Command. I’m incredibly thankful for the volunteers, firefighters, EMS, EMA, contractors, Troopers, Deputies, Police Officers, Red Cross, State, Local, and Federal leaders and the communities coming together for each other for Nebraska! Stay safe and Thank You! On my way back, it was great to visit with our western Communications Center and Troop D office. Troopers were active along I-80, keeping Nebraska safe! Keep up the great work! @NEStatePatrol #Nebraskastrong

Preparing for the morning commute? Roads could still be slick after yesterday’s weather and freezing overnight. Blowing snow may also reduce visibility in the Omaha area. Check 511.nebraska.gov before you go, allow extra time, slow down, & increase your following distance.

The sun is finally out on the eastern end of the state. Troopers still have Interstate 80 closed westbound forcing all traffic to exit at the Gretna Interchange mile marker 432. Picture courtesy of Sgt Estwick #NSP216

A High Wind Warning is effective for the whole state today, with a Blizzard Warning in the northeast. Do not attempt to travel in blizzard conditions as visibility can be at or near zero. Stay weather aware, Nebraska. 📸Inman, Long Pine, Verdigre, Valentine

Many Nebraskans are waking up to a fresh blanket of snow. Roadways are wet and could be slick in spots so give yourself extra time and take it slow on your morning drive. 📸 Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island, North Platte
