Not only have our Y7 artists been working on their bird designs in school, their homework project has been to create an artist booklet. Frida Kahlo, the Mexican artist known for her brilliantly coloured self-portraits, has been a popular choice. Well done Y7 - great work!
Y4 absolutely loved their trip this morning with @York_YoYoTrust ! One of the activities was an immersive walk through experience of the Christmas story! We got to dress up and get involved with a hands on theatre experience! #THCREW
Y7 Art students have continued to work on their bird studies. Building on their line drawings, and working with oil pastels, they've now produced pieces of art showing all the amazing colours of their chosen birds. We are so impressed with the standard of their work!
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Barclays Equal Access School Award 2024! Many thanks to the Rufforth Sports Crew for all their hard work in developing girls’ football.
WOW!!
We have loved having @ridinglights theatre company in school this morning! They have performed an amazing Christmas story adaptation and the children have thoroughly enjoyed it! #THCREW
Y7 Art students have been working with different media to produce a series of bird studies, focussed on the work of artist Robert Fuller. They've produced initial sketches and will eventually produce a design idea for a 3D bird in flight. Here's a selection of some of their work.
Today we have been learning all about the Circulatory system. We have used balloons to understand how oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood travels around our organs 🫀🫁

Congratulations to Sebastian & Aart who played in the York Schools Chess Tournament. They came 7th, just behind St Peter's, with Sebastian the team’s stop scorer. November has been busy for Art who also competed in the Rubik Cube National Championships where he scored 2 PBs!
Congratulations to the Y7 5-a-side football team. They won the Ryedale/Whitby tournament last week, and now progress to the finals in Scarborough later this term. They played incredibly well as a team, winning all 4 of their matches.
Very well done to our Y11 GCSE Drama students who brought their own work to the stage of the Drama Studio last week. They had to respond creatively to a brief, including technical elements as well as script. Find out more in our web blog: buff.ly/3CHrqqi
