At this point, just scrap the whole contest. The EBU is a bunch of clowns wrapping themselves up in a net of lies to keep justifying their irrational and biased behavior. The ESC has always been political. The idea of a peaceful, friendly competition is INHERENTLY political.

BREAKING: Belgian TV channel interrupts Eurovision to address Israel’s genocide: “This is a union action. We condemn the human rights violations committed by Israel. Additionally, Israel is destroying press freedom. That is why we are pausing the broadcast for a moment.” 🇵🇸🔥

You guys never truly understood star trek. Literally the cast and castings that followed the og show were controversial. Literally white ppl did write and complain about the og show, tng, Sisko and Janeway. The actors have literally talked about this! The sexism and racism.
Brad R. Torgersen@BradRTorgersen

I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible. But a particular kind of cultural erasure and re-writing has once again reared its ugly head, thus I feel compelled to state a few facts regarding one of my particularly beloved franchises. The Star Trek of my youth was not Woke. It presented an egalitarian, meritocratic future where ethnicity simply didn't matter. And when characters like Commodore Stone, Captain Terrell, Admiral Morrow, or the captain of the U.S.S. Saratoga were presented, we (the fans) took them in stride. There was no shock. No outrage. This was not edgy. It reflected (and still reflects) the actual military as it's existed in the United States since the 1950s. We saw more of the same, when TNG came on the air. So, you will never convince me that a character like Captain Sisko was in any way controversial. He wasn't. Everyone said, "Cool, they got Hawk for the new show!" Because Brooks (as a heavyweight presence) was already well known, thanks to him co-starring in Spenser for Hire. And it had already been established in prior movies and television outings that Starfleet was a seamlessly integrated environment. You were on those starships and wearing that rank because you'd earned it. And for no other reason. I loathe the Woke tendency to take eggshell and messily roller it over the pop culture of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Just because modern Wokies—most of whom weren't even around to remember it as it actually happened—have an incessant need to LARP as bold smashers and breakers, doesn't give them the right to delete the significant cultural product of my age. I won't let them.

With no rain for several months in many areas of Thailand and a record breaking heatwave, a rain-making ceremony was held. Traditionally, a real cat would be used, but it seems the locals decided on Doraemon instead—a modern twist against animal cruelty.

Beware: This type of scene is often used as propaganda after police raid protest encampments. A violent eviction takes place, and then law enforcement or the institutions being protested claim that the protesters left a mess. Standing Rock was the best example of this.
Shay Horse@HuntedHorse

The fighting is finally over. It looks like the camp on the ucla campus looks like it was hit by a tornado. The police didn’t even clean, they just broke the protesters things.
