What an incredible way to celebrate International Pi Day with my students! We read engaging Pi stories, tackled fun Pi puzzles, & played vocabulary games. The highlight was when my amazing 6th-graders performed a self-directed Pi skit for guests. We ate delicious pies & cookies🍪

Ms. Holt and Ms. Gammill’s 3rd grade classes teamed up to tackle some tricky word problems using the Read, Draw, Write strategy! 📚✏️ Students worked together to break down the problem, draw a model to show their thinking, solve it using equations, and write their answers in complete sentences. I had to pinch myself during a walk-through in 6th grade RAP @MSTMAGNET . Students were finding standard deviation, analyzing skewed data, debating medians & connecting it all to their MAP scores, a skill introduced in 8th. Not average. #EngineeringTheFuture
