Concerns go beyond profits. Lawmakers warn these platforms could exploit national security information or be tracked by foreign intelligence. Congress needs to investigate, set real rules, and shut this down. No one should be cashing in on decisions that affect our lives, especially not war.

These accounts had no other activity, and their only trades were tied to that single event. Other trades show a pattern. One account made about $550,000 betting that the U.S. would strike Iran and that Iran’s leader would be removed from power before the war began.

People are placing bets on war and walking away with millions. Lawmakers are calling for investigations into Polymarket after at least 50 new accounts placed large bets on a U.S.-Iran ceasefire shortly before it was announced by President Trump. npr.org/2026/04/10/nx-…

23,000 cases dropped. Entire categories of crime are deprioritized. A system redirected. You deserve a justice system that enforces the law fairly – not selectively. Tell Congress to step in, demand accountability, and make sure justice works for us all.

While shifting focus, the DOJ declined over 900 federal fraud cases, more than 1,000 terrorism cases, and thousands of drug cases. Prosecutors and former officials warned the department was retreating from its mission to uphold fairness and protect communities.

The Justice Department quietly closed more than 23,000 criminal investigations in the first six months of Trump’s administration, abandoning cases involving corruption, white-collar crime, domestic terrorism, and more as it shifted resources toward immigration enforcement. propublica.org/article/trump-…

Members of Congress who have failed to act own whatever Trump does tonight. Congress can refuse to authorize wars. It can refuse to fund wars. It can impeach presidents and cabinet members who pursue illegal wars and order war crimes or genocide. Act or own it. @representus
Congresswoman Sara Jacobs@RepSaraJacobs

The President just threatened genocide. The Joint Chiefs of Staff must disregard any such military orders that violate federal and international law. Republicans in Congress can't hide anymore: we must consider all options – including impeachment – to stop Trump.

Decisions about war and national security should not overlap with potential financial gain. You don’t get a say in war – but you live with the consequences. No one making those decisions should be able to profit from them or trade on information you don’t have. Congress needs to draw a hard line.

The investment ultimately did not go ahead because the fund was not yet available to Morgan Stanley clients. It’s unclear whether another defense-related investment was pursued. The Pentagon has called the report “entirely false and fabricated,” while the war in Iran has stretched into its fifth week, with U.S. forces preparing for extended operations.

A broker for the U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sought to make a large investment in major defense companies in the lead-up to the Iran war, according to the Financial Times. The attempt was made just weeks before the conflict escalated. cnbc.com/2026/03/31/pet…

Public service should not be a pathway to profit. It’s time for real, enforceable rules to stop insider trading and conflicts of interest – because our government should work for us, not for their bottom line.

We’re tired of politicians using their influence for personal gain – making massive profits betting on events like war or government shutdowns. People in power should not be trading on events they influence or have inside information about.

A bipartisan bill was just introduced to ban members of Congress, the president, and senior officials from trading on prediction markets tied to political events and policy decisions. The PREDICT Act would also apply to their spouses, dependents, senior staff, and political appointees. politico.com/live-updates/2…

When freedom starts to look like something you can buy, it raises two basic questions: is justice equal – or are some people above the law? What precedent is being set if wealthy offenders can buy their way to a pardon?

The perception that freedom is for sale has outraged victims. It looks like paying the right person to deliver a message tailored to Trump’s politics or grievances matters more than showing remorse or a low likelihood of reoffending.

A NYT investigation reveals a growing “pardon industry” has emerged around Trump. Wealthy offenders pay lobbyists and lawyers with ties to President Trump’s orbit to seek clemency – sometimes spending hundreds of thousands or even millions to try to secure a pardon. nytimes.com/2026/03/06/us/…
