#Day 3 of Daily Reading Habits Book:Atomic Habits I learnt today how that there are two things people get wrong when trying to change an habit First is trying to change the wrong thing and the other using the wrong process When you want to change an habit it will be more easier done when you linked it to an identity(that is what you believed about yourself)than just trying to change the acts When you are trying to be eating balance diet linked it to an identity of you being and healthy person When trying to be consistent with Gym try looking at yourself as one who is fit When trying to develop a reading habit first start seeing yourself as one who is so knowledgeable and well rounded You are trying to learn a musical skill what about seeing yourself as that musician that everyone want to hear him sing Once your pride gets in you will fight tooth and nail to maintain your habit In the same light when trying to quit an habit like smoking you won’t want to see yourself as one who now have lung diseases,you won’t want such an identity for your self. Once you start telling yourself that you are a capable,Neat,fit,healthy,intelligent person you begin to resist any action that contradicts those identity In the same light when you begin to tell yourself otherwise you will resist any good action because they didn’t align with what you believed about yourself Progress requires unlearning Becoming the best version of yourself requires you to continuously edit your beliefs and to upgrade and expand your identity
