The move comes amid rising concerns about: - Insider trading on prediction market platforms - Events contracts that involve death or violence The Senate rule is separate from the broader BETS OFF Act (Banning Event Trading on Sensitive Operations and Federal Functions), introduced earlier this year by Senator Chris Murphy and Representative Greg Casar, which would seek to ban wagers on government actions where individuals may have control or advance knowledge of the outcome.
