Your athletes muscles are like a sponge once a workout or game is finished. They’re ready to soak up carbohydrates to refuel their body and protein to repair their lean muscle. Here is a guide to some of the best food/snack options 4 athletes after the activity to help recovery.

This is another pattern we see often. Some athletes train most of the year, but once the season starts they stop speed training. They don’t always lose speed right away. But progress stalls. Speed has to be maintained, even during the season.

We see this every season. An athlete trains consistently before the season and improves their speed. The season starts and speed training stops. Months later we retest their speed. They’ve lost their progress. Speed improvements are real — but they have to be maintained.

At TrueAP, speed isn’t a guess. We laser test every athlete weekly and measure two things: • 10-yard acceleration • Max velocity If you're curious how laser speed testing works at TrueAP, send us a message.

“Michael was tired of taking physical abuse from the Detroit pistons & wanted to start a strength & conditioning program.” “He said he’d try it out for 30 days & 30 days turned into 15 years.” How the weight room helped Michael Jordan become the GOAT 🐐

One of the most common things we hear from parents is: “My athlete runs all the time at practice.” And that’s true. But running during practice is very different from training speed. If you’re curious how we measure and train speed, feel free to send us a message.

Speed is the fastest physical quality to disappear. If athletes stop sprinting at max speed for about 7–10 days, the nervous system already begins to lose the adaptations that support top-end speed. If you're curious how we measure and train speed, feel free to reach out.

Higher top speed improves acceleration, game speed, and late-game performance. That’s why we train max velocity year-round.

Strength alone doesn’t make athletes fast. Speed requires force, timing, and proper mechanics — and we train all three intentionally. DM us to learn more.

Speed gaps don’t close on their own. Every season is a choice — wait, or take action. If you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time.

Speed mechanics don’t change across sports. That’s why this works for basketball, soccer, football, lacrosse, and track. If you’re curious, send us a message.
