A lady was telling her friend that she’d be fine if she had only two girls because she wanted just two kids. She didn’t want to spend her life birthing kids with the hopes of getting a boy and end up with 7 kids like her mother did.
The friend replied that boys preserve the family’s lineage and she won’t be respected in the family if she had only female kids .
The lady told her that her brothers were bearing her father’s first name , so her grandfather’s legacy was as good as dead . Her brother can decide to give his kids his first name too . Then she asked her to name her great, great, grand father and her friend couldn’t.
She then asked her what legacy would they be preserving if the descendants can’t name the dead elders from the father’s side especially if the elders did nothing worthy of remembrance?
I hollered!!

I overheard a conversation in this cab and I believe this is something we need to talk about more frequently.
