Living free from violence is a human right. The recent and significant increase in antisemitic attacks, including this week's horrific attack on two people in Golders Green, is deeply concerning. We stand in solidarity with Jewish communities who feel unsafe and fearful right now. No individual or community should ever be targeted, intimidated or subjected to violence because of their faith or identity. The escalation of hate speech and violence against Jewish communities here in the UK represents a direct assault on fundamental human rights. At a time of heightened tension, the priority should be protecting communities, rejecting hatred, and ensuring that public discourse remains accurate, responsible, and empathetic. None of us have human rights unless ALL of us have them.

On May Day, we know that by coming together, we not only protect workers' rights but all our rights. The workers' rights movement has won many human rights for us all: the weekend and our right to rest, the right to strike and organise, the right to equal pay, the right to stay safe at work. An attack on protest rights is an attack on workers. Rising poverty is an attack on workers. Rampant racism is an attack on workers. Today, millions of workers across the UK are fighting back against unfairness and division.

“It’s my first time voting. This is why I’m doing it.” A free society needs people to feel empowered to use their voices. It takes all of us to build a fair society. This election, on May 7th 2026, is our chance to elect a government that protects our rights and build a fairer Wales. We’re demanding the next Scottish Parliament introduces a Human Rights Bill to enshrine our everyday rights into law.

Together we can make sure next Thursday marks a turning point for Scotland. For too long people in Scotland have been denied access to their everyday rights like housing, healthcare and education.

Civilians across the region need an enduring, sustained and comprehensive regional ceasefire. A sustainable ceasefire is needed in order to avoid further catastrophic civilian suffering. Without this, it will be much harder to pave the way for justice, respect for international law and long-term human rights protection for all. Iran: By 7 April, US and Israeli attacks had resulted in at least 3,375 people killed and 25,000 injured. The US-Israeli attacks in Iran took place as Iranians were reeling from unprecedented massacres by Iranian authorities in January. Civilians in Iran face dual risks of atrocity crimes: a resumption in unlawful US/Israeli attacks as well as further deadly repression by the Iranian authorities. People in Iran continue to face a dual risk of atrocity crimes, while at the same time over a million people in Lebanon have been displaced because of Israeli attacks. The recurrence of atrocities in Iran is rooted in a constitutional structure that entrenches impunity and systemic discrimination, depriving people of access to justice and effective remedies. Lebanon: The absolute impunity that Israel has enjoyed for its 2024 unlawful attacks in Lebanon has fuelled further violations in 2026. Lebanese civilians have endured repeated rounds of devastating conflict. Israeli military must cease attacks on civilian structures and withdraw from Lebanon. The 1 million+ civilians displaced from their homes must be allowed to return. Hezbollah must stop launching attacks into Israel. The so-called ceasefire agreements reached in Gaza in 2025 and Lebanon in 2024 demonstrably failed to stop Israeli attacks on civilians, with at least 765 Palestinians killed since then. Role of the UK: Words without action are meaningless. Keir Starmer's government has spoken repeatedly about its commitment to international law - now it must demonstrate what that means in practice. Britain has tools it has, so far, refused to use. Stop the arms transfers. Ban trade with illegal settlements. Stand fully and unambiguously behind the ICC. These are not radical demands - they are the minimum. The UK must make clear it will not lend military support, airbases and airspace, to any state, including the United States, where there is a risk of war crimes or genocide being committed. Demanding a lasting ceasefire is not naive. What’s naive is perpetrators thinking they can commit human rights violations without millions of us organising for accountability and justice. BREAKING: We’re outside the Royal Courts of Justice because the government has chosen to appeal the High Court’s decision that the ban of Palestine Action was unlawful. King Charles and President Donald Trump will banquet in the White House while the Middle East spirals into chaos following the unlawful US-Israeli attacks in violation of the UN Charter. They will have a ‘diplomatic garden party’ while immigrant families continue to be detained across the country. The Trump administration has been enabled by governments, like the UK, which have failed to challenge the attacks on the international justice system the US and UK once helped create. Further cowardice will only make matters worse. It is only by resisting, denouncing and pushing back against US attacks, that we can defend international law, standards and everyone’s human rights.

Horrified at what the housing crisis means for children? You're not alone. 104 children have died in the last 6 years, with temporary accommodation a factor contributing to their deaths. 104 families mourning. 104 futures stolen. 104 unnecessary deaths. 76 of those children tragically passed before celebrating their first birthday. This is a human rights scandal. The government must ensure everyone has a safe place to call home.

Scared of mass surveillance? You’re not alone. The Government wants to use more Facial Recognition Technology in public places, even though it creates new risks to all our rights to privacy and non-discrimination. No matter who we are, we should all be safe to get on with our lives without fear of false arrest or harassment because of technology that has proven to be unreliable. Use of this dangerous and discriminatory tool of surveillance should be immediately scrapped. Based on reports, Amnesty International is disappointed that the Court didn't understand that once this technology is everywhere in UK city centres, it becomes unfair and disproportionate mass surveillance. We won’t stop fighting this.

Palantir is in the news again! MPs from all sides criticised Palantir in last week’s debate. Almost half referenced Palantir’s links to human rights abuses. This is a win, but we need to keep up the pressure. At a public event in 2025, Palantir’s CEO Alex Karp was confronted by a protester who said the company’s AI technology killed Palestinians. Carp responded: “Mostly terrorists, that’s true.” What’s happening in Gaza is an ongoing genocide. We shouldn’t have a company linked to human rights abuses have anything to do with our precious NHS. No individual should ever be targeted, intimidated or subjected to violence because of their faith or identity. The normalisation of hate speech and the escalation of physical threats against the Jewish community here in the UK represents a direct assault on the fundamental human rights to practise their religion, their safety and dignity.
