We’ve talked about girls’ education for years. So why are so many girls still out of school? At BudgIT, we’re done circling the problem. We’re driving action. Last month, we were in Ibadan, Oyo State, bringing policymakers, educators, and community voices into one room with a clear message: Fund girl-child education. Across our focus states, we’re pushing for stronger accountability and sustained investment where it matters most. The work is ongoing and our goal is clear. Real change must show up in the budgets. #FundHerFuture #GirlChildEducation #MalalaFund

Health budget is growing but today, the people of Akarabata, Modakeke in Osun state cannot leave their house and get instant medical care🤨 The only “facility” in a community of over 5000 Nigerians is in complete ruins! At what point do we stop to remember that numbers on papers are lives of young and old, women and children that cannot just be discarded?? Your urgent attention is needed to renovate this facility NOW: Gov @AAdeleke_01, @Osun_State_Gov @NphcdaNG ‼️ #FixOurPHCs

🗣️Dear Nigerians, Our country’s health budget is growing. On paper, everything looks like progress. But when you zoom in, the story changes. Trillions are approved, but somehow Nigerians are still the ones funding their own survival. From ₦635bn in 2021 to ₦2.83tn in 2025, the numbers climbed, before dipping to ₦2.46tn in 2026. Across states, ₦26.52tn was approved, but only ₦17.88tn was spent. Out of ₦1.97tn allocated to health, just ₦1.18tn was used. #AskQuestions #GetInvolved

Our hospitals are without equipment. Projects never get completed. People are paying out of pocket for what should already be covered. At the federal level, capital health spending has struggled too, with utilisation not exceeding 40% in recent years. So the issue is clear. Money is not the only problem. Execution is. #GetInvolved #AskQuestions

Nobody checks their government’s budget the way they check their bank alerts 👀 Yet every year, trillions of your money is allocated, spent, and sometimes mismanaged quietly, without your knowledge. The roads that are not built. The hospitals that are not equipped. The projects that exist only on paper. It all starts with a budget you have never read. You track your debit alerts to the last kobo. The government’s spending deserves the same energy. Start tracking your money now: govspend.ng #FollowtheMoney #GetInvolved

The problem is the gap between power and accountability. Leaders act without consequence, and too many citizens have been conditioned to endure rather than demand better. Bad governance thrives where accountability is weak and expectations are low. The moment citizens consistently demand answers and systems begin to enforce consequences, things will shift. #GetInvolved #AskQuestions

This!!! It’s been refreshing seeing young Nigerians call out bad governance and demand better but we also have to show up where it counts. Real change takes getting involved and exercising our civic responsibility. We cannot demand better outcomes while opting out of the process that determines them.

Most youths don’t even have PVC 😂😂 we still never serious, fr. Those market men and women we mock for selling their votes for 2k and a bowl of rice , all of them have PVCs. You, a graduate running four jobs at 24 and still can’t afford rent, are facing the consequences of bad governance more than them. still no get PVC because “the process is stressful.”

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is not just about building a road. It is raising deep accountability and governance concerns that cannot be ignored. Beyond the headlines, several critical issues stand out: - Unclear total project cost and limited public disclosure on procurement process. - Demolitions and displacement of businesses and livelihoods with concerns around compensation. - Environmental risks to coastal communities, wetlands, and long term climate impact. - Phased commissioning that raises questions about political optics versus actual project completion. - Uncertainty around project design, scope, and long term maintenance plan. At Tracka, we have joined many well-meaning Nigerians in demanding answers. We submitted a Freedom of Information request to @FMWNIG through the office of the minister @DaveUmahi to seek clarity on these issues since March 2, yet no response has been received to date. This lack of transparency weakens public trust and raises further concerns about how large-scale infrastructure projects are being managed. Public projects of this magnitude must be open, accountable, and people-centred. Citizens deserve to know the true cost, the process, and the long-term impact. We will continue to #followtheprojects and demand accountability because #publicfundsmustworkforthegoodofthepeople. #askquestions

🗣️ Dear Nigerians, @TrackaNG submitted a Freedom of Information request on March 2, asking for clarity on the cost, process, and key details of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project. We are asking these questions because projects of this scale involve public funds and have real implications for communities, livelihoods, and the environment. Nigerians deserve to know how decisions are made and how resources are being used. Till date, there has been no response. #AskQuestions #GetInvolved

If demanding accountability is what they call “de-marketing Nigeria,” then we need to question if they really want this country to work. Calling for better systems is how countries grow and we will continue to remind Nigerians to #AskQuestions.
