My Highschool D&D club transitioned to "Game Club" after the school system banned Dungeons & Dragons. We played Call of Cthulhu, Car Wars, some other games i don't recall the titles of, and of course D&D because no one at the school save our faculty sponsor could tell the difference and he didn't care :D

@hexingames I just noticed that your 「Uncle Albert’s 2035 Catalog」is in a box. Our 2035, 2038, and 2039 catalogs were printed as booklets. They were later compiled into one big 「Catalog from Hell」. What was included in the Japanese boxed set?

@pixelnostalgia @hexingames Oh, that was a while ago! I got a copy of the Japanese Uncle Albert’s 2035 catalog earlier this year. The catalog itself is smaller than the US version and includes a blank poster map for designing your own arena.

@SavageBruski Which game? Related: Car Wars has a similar scaling problem. It became egregious when they introduced TANKS. They retconned an explanation that default weapons are snub versions optimized for short-range duels. For long range gunnery, long-barelled versions became available...

I invented the d6 pool system for my Ghostbusters roleplaying game. It has since been used in several other games (usually without credit because you can't copyright a game system) including the Star Wars roleplaying game. So my argument is that a d6 system works great.
