The horse Gold Dancer tragically died after winning a race today, breaking his back on the last hurdle and crossing the finish line before collapsing. He died just minutes later. The jockey is now under fire for pushing Gold Dancer far beyond his physical limit.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department extends its heartfelt condolences to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and to the family of Deputy Randy Hoppert, who was tragically killed in the line of duty this morning.
