During a solar eclipse, the gaps between leaves on trees act as multiple pinhole cameras, and each gap projects its own crescent-shaped image of the eclipsed sun onto the ground. 📹gottigreen

SUPER COOL! Did you notice a red dot coming out of the sun during totality? That’s a prominence. They happen occasionally to often, but are often small. So the chance to have one during an eclipse is not very common, but not super rare. BUT the chance they are big enough to be seen by the naked eye during an eclipse is. Pretty special! A prominence is a plasma (hot gas) trapped in a magnetic 🧲 field loop coming out of the sun. 🌞

Italy's Mount Etna has been putting on a show by blowing near-perfect circles into the Sicilian sky. A new vent opened on the summit of Europe's largest active volcano & The rings are made of gases and propelled by circular currents caused by the particular form of the vent🌋🌬️

Monday’s Weather Rating: 8/10 Partly cloudy and warmer, with high temperatures in the mid 60s. A bit of a chilly wind at times, but this is a big improvement. Go watch the partial eclipse, the vibes are good!!
