Israelis are marching in Tel Aviv tonight ahead of Memorial Day demanding a state inquiry into October 7th. One protester: "Benjamin Netanyahu is still in his job. They want us to forget what happened. We will never forget." Another: "This government has to go. We need leadership that prioritizes life, justice and truth." These aren't Palestinians protesting. These are Israelis. Whose family members were killed on October 7th. Demanding accountability from the government that failed them. Never stop connecting the dots.

There is no good explanation for this Administration to quietly lift sanctions on Russia late on a Friday night. Congress and the American people need immediate answers. We must not help Russia fund its illegal war in Ukraine and aid Iranian attacks on American troops.

Doug Ford seems to think that 1 and 1/2 trips per year to northern Ontario justifies the purchase of a $29 million jet. He could have hired 300 registered nurses, or 400 teachers, or 500 PSW’s that would have contributed back into our economy. Doug Ford has got to go.

I was on CP24 Breakfast this morning when the story broke that Doug Ford spent $30M on a private jet – here was my response:

The Trump administration has rewarded Russian terrorism by quietly removing sanctions on Russian oil at the end of Friday work hours today, just one day after Russian ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine killed at least 18 civilians including a child and injured over 100.

Kyiv burns as Ukraine no longer has any Patriot interceptor missiles - the only defense against Russian Iskander ballistic missiles. Vice President Vance recently bragged of his "proudest" achievement - cutting off military support for Ukraine.

🌞Good morning Canada. Happy weekend. In the last 24 hours Poilievre posted six attacks on Carney. Not one holds up on causation. The intent is volume. The cause is an opposition with no affirmative economic vision. The effect is a scrambled timeline where accountability becomes impossible and governing becomes harder. 📌 UK inflation: peaked two years after Carney left the Bank of England. 📌 Toronto housing crash: built on rate hikes Tiff Macklem ordered, in a pipeline that collapsed before Carney took office. 📌 Federal debt at 100% of GDP: achieved by combining provincial and federal numbers, then attributed to a PM who has governed for months. 📌 Tariff silence: demonstrably false. 📌 GFANZ "bankruptcy": GFANZ still exists. 📌 The Telegraph quotes: a single opinion column by a financial commentator, laundered as verdict. This isn't opposition research. It's a coordinated saturation campaign designed to make every bad economic number feel like Carney's before anyone checks a single data or fact. Meanwhile Carney spent his day in talks with 50 countries on the Strait of Hormuz, meeting Quebec's new Premier, and confirming a Groceries Benefit top-up of up to $267 landing June 5 for millions of Canadians. One man is doing the job. The other is tweeting. Substance vs. Noise. You grab a coffee ☕️. I'm off to farmers market.

Our daughter, Rachel Corrie, was killed in 2003 in Gaza, while trying to protect a Palestinian home facing illegal destruction by the Israeli military. She was 23 years old. The massive, armored Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer that crushed her was operated by two Israeli soldiers and manufactured in the United States. It was the same type of militarized bulldozer that US presidents from George W. Bush through to Donald Trump have delivered to Israel. Today, as the destruction of Palestinian homes has only become more commonplace, not to mention the horror of Israel’s genocide, Senator Bernie Sanders will force a vote in the Senate to try to end this cycle of death by banning the transfer of D-9 bulldozers to Israel. We hope he will not take this stand alone. No policy can bring back those taken from us by these actions—children and other loved ones. But the Senate now has an opportunity to honor the memories of our daughter, other Americans, and thousands of Palestinian civilians killed, and to show that their deaths, and all the destruction, will no longer be condoned and funded. We hope those elected to represent us, the American people, understand the message that voting to block these D-9 bulldozers will send. This will not be a symbolic gesture, but a concrete step toward the protection of human life. thenation.com/article/politi…

Thank you Leader Lewis for raising with Prime Minister Carney the urgent need to "stop the privatization of health care by dusting off and actually enforcing the Canada Health Act". We need to stand up for average Canadians. @avilewis @MarkJCarney
Avi Lewis@avilewis

Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and I had a warm and productive first conversation today. I shared the NDP’s concerns about the cost-of-living crisis facing Canadians, including the creepy practice of surveillance pricing. I raised the urgent need to stop the privatization of health care by dusting off and actually enforcing the Canada Health Act. And I reiterated our position that Canada must take a clear moral stand against illegal wars (and the countries that start them) in this age of impunity. It was a forthright and friendly exchange — and it made me feel encouraged about the prospects of a little old school respectful political debate in this country. Maybe I’m just nostalgic for the kind of politics I've watched my parents practice throughout their lives — always soft on people, hard on the issues. I think that’s what the country needs right now. But honestly? I don’t see politics in terms of access to the powerful. Making the changes we need depends on how much momentum we can build behind solutions that confront power and benefit the 99%. That’s the real work. And it’s going to take all of us.

I think it may be time the govt breaks apart the gouging grocery oligarchy in this country. It’s the root of most Canadians’ ire, inflation and daily financial suffering. It’s untenable.

Just 20 minutes before Trump announced the Strait of Hormuz was open—Someone dumped 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures. A $760 million bet that oil prices would drop. Orders far larger than anything else in the market at that moment. They made a fortune. But somebody knew the announcement was coming. This is insider trading at the highest level of government.
