@coreyhoganyyc Over 97% of my investors in my company are not Canadian. I can’t get any Canadians to fund me as a Canadian founder. If I pull a Gladu will I get some funding?

Alberta - and all of Canada - are set to boom in the coming years. Foreign direct investment in Canada is at its highest level in 18 years - and twice that of the next closest G7 country.

@Bratt_world I don’t like most gov policies but this one might be good but I say this has to be an experiment. Too much social media prob isn’t good for kids.

If you’re against restricted access of the internet for minors, i want to know why 😬
Made In Canada@MadelnCanada

#BREAKING: Canada is expected to table legislation in Parliament this week which would ban social media use for children under the age of 16, with platforms able to apply for exemptions if they can prove they can keep kids safe online. 🇨🇦

Toronto's 'Do West Fest' happened this weekend and it was a complete shitshow. YNs (young black thugs) were climbing on the roof of stores and cars, lighting firecrackers in the crowd, women were sexually harassed, people were robbed, people were getting squished in like a mosh pit, others were having liquids dumped on them, etc... Toronto is becoming an unsafe city. FIFA should be interesting!

I was going to charge for this, but f*** it. My team just put together a 40+ page report of everything we’re seeing right now in the small biz economy. What’s inside: → Real market data on SBA lending → Business buyer demand trends → Data on the ownership succession gap → An inside look at what small businesses are doing with AI right now We’ve spent months doing hundreds of surveys and interviewing dozens of owners to put this together. Now it’s yours for free. Just: 1. Like this post 2. Comment “SMB” And I’ll send it over. (Make sure you’re following me so I can DM you.)

@VancitySaggu @Dave_Eby @FIFAWorldCup @grok I can't help everybody but I have done a lot of volunteer work for @BetBlocker. What I want to know in BC is they have the world cup and what were their plans for the homeless before this event began? It doesn't seem like much has changed.

Once again, Vancouver is ranked #1 among the host cities for @FIFAWorldCup 2026! I’m so proud to see BC’s vibrant city get the recognition it deserves - especially up against 16 of North America’s best. The World Cup countdown is on! si.com/soccer/ranking…

@pxue Rejections + No = feedback. Any rejections I get, I welcome them. I def don't need fire though, it won't change my work mode currently which is overdrive via AI.

my entire timeline is people sharing VC stories, so here’s mine. Index fund passed on investing in my third startup few years ago, told my CEO I was too shitty of a CTO / leader to be investable. Honestly they were probably right at the time, I was 6 years into my startup journey and getting comfortable as a lead dev instead of a co-founder. I was just building the thing and not growing the company. CEO was nice about it but the feedback stuck with me and really re-lit a fire inside. Helped me figure out wtf it takes to actually play this startup game and the kind of founder I need to become. Startups are hard and sometimes you need harsh rejections to wake up a little.

I used to make $1M/year as a hedge fund analyst. Now I’m close to broke. I spent 15 years on Wall Street. - Grilled 500+ CEOs. - Partied with billionaires. - Traveled the world - even made it to Antarctica. From the outside, it looked like I won. I was miserable. The stress was eating me alive. I had migraines so bad I couldn’t get out of bed for days. Then I got Yoshi, my golden retriever. And something changed. Man's best friend helped me relax. He slowed me down enough to realize how broken it had become. The problem was, I still had to travel constantly. Every trip became the same fight: Who do we trust with Yoshi? My wife and I burned through friends and family because we couldn’t find care that felt safe. And I kept thinking: How the hell is this still so hard? Airbnb solved trust for strangers sleeping in your house. Uber solved trust for strangers driving you around. But dog care still feels like a gamble. Rover didn’t fix it. For a lot of people, it made the problem worse. So I left the hedge fund world to build Tails. Bye bye money. And honestly, it’s been brutal. My technical cofounder burned me. VCs hate the category. Everything has taken longer, cost more, and hurt more than I expected. But I’m still here. Because this isn’t about “pet services.” It’s about making it easy to find people you trust with a family member. Tails will win because dogs deserve better. And so do the people who love them.

The first policy of the new BC Conservative leader isn’t support for British Columbians, it’s finding ways to support Alberta’s separatist movement. That’s a choice.

Apparently Canada is so terrible that; We have one of the highest net migration rates in the developed world. People are lining up, sometimes for years, just for the chance to live here. Every year, tens of thousands of people sell everything they own, leave their families behind, and cross oceans to build a life in this country. But sure. Tell me again how unlivable it is. Is Canada perfect? No. Housing costs are brutal. Affordability is a real crisis. Those are legitimate conversations worth having. But there’s a difference between criticizing a country to make it better and performing hatred of it for engagement. If you genuinely, deeply hate Canada, that’s actually okay. Not every place is for every person. There are countries with lower taxes, warmer weather, cheaper housing, looser regulations. Go explore them. Seriously. But if you’re staying here, collecting the healthcare, cashing the paycheques, and using the infrastructure while telling everyone this country is garbage? That’s not a political position, it’s just bad faith. Canada has real problems. It also has people, who love this country, working every single day to fix them. Pick a lane.

@GJCMDP @grok @Reil76 don't believe me, ask real estate agents, accountants or financial advisors. There might be some that would say they don't think this is happening from what they are hearing but I've heard from quite a few they are noticing this.

@JigglyPants44 Includes 20,000 new gov jobs. I thought we were cutting but I guess not if we need more numbers. Next stop, will next quarter be 3rd quarter in a row of negative GDP? Can we bet on it @Polymarket

@GJCMDP @grok @Reil76 this isn't immigrants, these are Canadians. Yes immigrants also leave but these are Canadians that are saying good bye to Canada with their reasons as being for a better life. The gap between Canada and other G7 countries is increasing, we truly are not growing.

@SolaTheAnalyst haha, you might not want to hear it but obviously isn't for everyone. I'm from Toronto and left in 2019, whether I am driving back or train back and using TTC, both are horrible experiences. I actually prefer my car but that is stupid expensive. I'm in Montreal now, better city

Owning a car in Toronto is a personality disorder. 🇨🇦 $200 insurance before you move it. $300 parking if you work downtown. The 401 on a Friday. The TTC is $156 a month. But sure. Keep the car.
