At the #PHCCongress, leading voices from @Amref_Kenya, @Medic, and beyond revealed how #AI is transforming primary health care. In his keynote address, @NdiranguWanjuki highlighted that Africa could unlock up to $100 billion annually by deploying generative AI across sectors. For health, the biggest wins are early disease detection and smarter support for frontline workers. The proof? It’s already happening in Kenya. In @countygovmks, AI-enabled solutions are helping supervisors analyse data from thousands of community health workers to identify emerging health issues and strengthen decision-making. Dr. Chris Adede showed how AI is boosting #malaria test accuracy, empowering community health promoters to deliver faster, better care. Dr Jeremiah Mumo emphasised the need for strong data protection and responsible AI, because #health data belongs to the patient. Community health supervisors acknowledged that adding AI to Kenya’s eCHIS system slashed paperwork and made their jobs easier, from prioritising tasks to reporting. The takeaway? AI can strengthen health systems if leaders use it wisely. Rather than replacing health workers, it will support them in delivering better care for communities. #Amref4PHC @kmtc @MOH_Kenya @WHOKenya
