Very strange how the 19 other teams hate how Arsenal play... yet have decided to play exactly like them

I saw Erling Haaland throw a ball at the back of big Gabriel’s head, yell at a little boy, tell Arteta to stay humble. I watch Stoke City, Birmingham and the likes being hooligans against us and the media could only call us soft. I watched Neville, Nistelrooy and co almost murder Reyes in that fraudulent 2-0 defeat that broke our unbeaten record. What I didn't see is the media having the same reaction they are having on Martinelli. It is not about Martinelli, it is about Arsenal. Martinelli's only offence is he is an Arsenal player. If he was playing for some other clubs the noise won't be this much.

All the fake Martinelli outrage is such rubbish. One of the only people who had every right to be very angry with what happened was Arne Slot, yet he's one of the few to speak really sensibly about the whole thing. Martinelli was stupid, he assessed the situation in completely the wrong way. He wasn't looking when the injury happened and he jumped to the wrong conclusion in the heat of the moment. It was a big mistake and he's quite rightly apologised to Bradley and publicly. But some of the stuff I've seen and heard today, my word. Just so over the top.

Liverpool being 14 points behind Arsenal after spending £500m and coming to the Emirates just to get a point is not talked about enough.
But it’s Arsenal who get criticised for being 14 points ahead and top of the league.
Wow.
 Thank you, Mikel Arteta

Parts of our fanbase actually just need to relax a bit, it’s so draining like do you not get bored of just constantly whining? City also played a League One team tonight, also put out a strong lineup, also won 2-0. And they’re all absolutely fine with it

What a footballing fairytale this is. Chelsea showing what's possible when you have a net spend of £1.4bn in three years.

A gentle reminder of the bench that Arsenal had to face PSG. Please do not tell me we don’t need to invest in depth. Please do not tell me “Ethan can cover RW and AM”. We are a big club. This side is crying out for more powerful runners and impact options. The more, the merrier.

Yeah, Mikel Arteta, who got rid of Aubameyang for just being late too many times, knew that Thomas Partey was a criminal and they had secret chats about it in his office and decided to protect him. Do you realise how idiotic some of you sound throwing this at Arteta?

The hypocrisy in this piece is staggering. The Athletic asserts it could not name Partey for legal reasons until he was charged… But then asserts Arsenal should have undertaken actions prior to charging him that would have identified Partey. They’re basically saying we wouldn’t break the law… but Arsenal should have. If the Athletic had named him, Arsenal would have been in a position to suspend him. Don’t throw stones in glass houses. They then selectively include information without balancing context to try and paint individuals in a bad light. For example, it shares that Arteta praised Partey for his performance despite “what he’s been through” implying Arteta had the full context and was defending his actions. Yet they don’t mention that when Arteta was explicitly asked what he meant by this in follow up, he stated he was referring to Partey’s inconsistencies in performance due to repeat injuries. Excluding this context makes the column a hit piece. Disgraceful. It then wrongly compares the situation to those of other clubs without clarifying why they were different situations legally. It then implies this as being an issue specifically within football and simply ignores the challenges that exist in English law with regard to right to privacy and how it directly affects decision-making in this domain. This is not just a football issue. It is an issue in English law. If you read my posts, you will know I am disgusted by the actions of club and I explain precisely why. What they actually did which was wrong. But this constant misinformation and point scoring is grotesque too and not helpful in any way - especially when it comes from media outlets. Get it right and don’t be a hypocrite or sod off.
The Athletic | Football@TheAthleticFC

Morally and emotionally, I find it difficult to accept how Arsenal has approached the Thomas Partey situation. Even if you make the argument for Arsenal being wary of the legal ramifications of suspending him, what can be made of their apparent desire to extend his contract beyond this summer? Arsenal have long led the way in championing the women’s game, and have traditionally been held up as a club that “does things the right way”. Yet they have acted in a manner that raises questions about the sport’s moral compass and how it really views allegations of sexual assault towards women. Partey denies the claims but they are serious. And Arsenal have acted in a way that has left many fans feeling uncomfortable and conflicted. 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/64741…

Disappointing night but PSG deserved it. Realistically we’ve had a world class defence but not enough up front all season. It’s a big summer. Anyone anti-Arteta is a clown. Never forget the 31 shots Watford took. Never forget.

Six years away from the Champions League Second season in a row in the competition that defines the biggest teams and careers, and reaching semis If you don't see #Arsenal's progression is because you don't want to Seven regulars return, 4/5 new starters and back to be one of the best teams in Europe That's what I see @m8arteta is doing with his team

Partey made a few mistakes. So did Lewis-Skelly. Hakimi locked down Martinelli and Saka missed a sitter. But I’m seeing Martin Ødegaard scapegoated? There’s no need to single anyone out. Be proud of the boys. They left it all out there tonight, every single player. This WILL NOT be Arsenal’s best chance of winning this competition. Quarter-final last year, semi-final this year. Manchester City and Chelsea were on the same trajectory in the past. Tonight hurts, but we will get there. Arsenal. ❤️
