🇬🇧 Magna Carta had a twin.
It was law for 754 years.
You've never heard of it.
After 1066, the Normans claimed the forests of England. Not just the trees...
Villages, farmland, rivers. One third of the country. Land ordinary people had farmed for centuries. Taken.
Hunt a deer to feed your family? They blinded you.
Cut down a tree to heat your home? They took your hands.
1215. The barons forced King John to sign Magna Carta. The most famous document in English history.
But Magna Carta was for the barons. Not for the people in the forests.
Two years later. 1217.
A second charter was sealed. The Charter of the Forest.
This one was for everyone.
The right to gather firewood. The right to graze your animals. The right to fish the streams. No more blinding. No more mutilation. For gathering wood.
For the first time in English law, ordinary people had rights to the land. Not given by the king. Taken from him.
754 years. It was law until 1971.
Every common in England. Every village green. Every right of way.
The idea that land belongs to everyone... It started here. 🇬🇧
They taught you Magna Carta.
They never taught you this.

The Queen banned them. 50,000 people rioted anyway. 🍞👑
In 1592 Queen Elizabeth I banned the sale of spiced buns. You could only buy one on Good Friday. Christmas. Or at a funeral.
So every Good Friday the Chelsea Bun House opened at 3 in the morning. And the crowds came. George II came. George III came. Queen Charlotte turned up and gave the baker a silver mug containing five guineas as a thank you. 👑
In 1792 the crowd got so out of hand that the baker Mrs Hand publicly announced there would be NO hot cross buns the following year.
She changed her mind.
In 1839, the last year of the Bun House, they sold 240,000 hot cross buns. In one day. 🇬🇧
The nursery rhyme dates to 1733. You are still eating them today.

Who remembers Ken Bigley?
‼️ A British civil engineer from Liverpool who was kidnapped and murdered in Iraq during the post-2003 invasion period.
‼️ On 16 September 2004, Bigley and two American colleagues: Eugene “Jack” Armstrong and Jack Hensley
were abducted from their shared house in the al-Mansour district of Baghdad by the Islamist militant group Tawhid and Jihad (also known as Monotheism and Jihad), led by the Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
‼️ The two Americans were beheaded first: Armstrong on or around 20 September, followed by Hensley on 21 September. Videos of their killings were released online.
‼️ Bigley was held longer. In propaganda videos released by his captors, he appeared at times caged or shackled, pleading for his life and directly appealing to British Prime Minister Tony Blair and the UK government to meet the group’s demands.
‼️ Despite public appeals from his family, the Muslim Council of Britain, and indirect diplomatic efforts, Bigley was beheaded on 7 October 2004 (aged 62). A video of the killing was posted online shortly afterward, showing him reading a statement before one of the masked militants cut off his head with a knife. His severed head was reportedly placed on his body afterward.
This world is FUCKED!!!!

Every time you fly anywhere on earth. It traces back to Croydon. ✈️
South London. 1920.
The world's first international airport. The world's first air traffic control tower. The world's first airport terminal. The world's first airport hotel. 🏨
And the word Mayday.
In 1923 senior radio officer Fred Mockford needed a distress call. Most flights went to Paris. So he chose the French for help me.
Mayday. Mayday. Mayday.
Used by every pilot. Every sailor. Across every sky and sea. 🌊
Charles Lindbergh landed here in 1927. One hundred thousand people came to meet him. Amy Johnson took off from here in 1930. The first woman to fly solo from Britain to Australia. Winston Churchill took flying lessons here. George VI got his wings here. 🇬🇧
It closed in 1959. The building still stands. In Croydon.
Every international airport on earth. Every air traffic control tower. Every Mayday call. Traces back to South London.
This is the kind of history we were never taught. 📚

Exactly one year ago today, Austin Metcalf was murdered in broad daylight.
The man responsible is now sitting at home on house arrest - enjoying freedom and time with his family.
He admitted to the act, saying: “I’m not alleged. I did it.”
He spent just 12 days in jail.
His bond was reduced.
Over half a million dollars was raised.
He was allowed to graduate.
And he is allegedly now attending college.
And somehow, this is what justice looks like?
This is a complete dishonor to the real victim - Austin Metcalf.
As Charlie Kirk said:
“Imagine believing that murderers deserve condolences, not their victims. The divide in America is between anyone with a grip on reality, and the clinically insane.” Those who support the killer are exactly that: clinically insane.
Austin deserved better. And we are not going to let his name be forgotten.
We will be watching.
We will be speaking.
And we will demand justice at trial.
Today, we remember Austin Metcalf.
We pray for his grieving family.
Do not give attention to the killer.
Do not amplify his name.
Say Austin’s name.
A life taken too soon - by a culture that believes accountability will never come.
We’re going to change that.
FOR AUSTIN.
RIP AUSTIN METCALF
Born: July 31, 2007
Gone, but never forgotten: April 2, 2025

At this point German would be preferable

Everyone in the UK would be speaking German if not for the United States.
