BREAKING: Zohran Mamdani has just promised that he is working to ensure World Cup tickets are “available to all.” There aren’t even any games being played in NYC.

The other side of the coin is this: Do law-abiding, fair, respectful citizens who simply cannot afford the experience they most want without missing next month's rent deserve to have it anyway?

Anyways, we can all debate the merits of what he's saying. In America, high-quality seats to see the best of the best athletes, artists, or anyone, could easily be considered a luxury experience. Capitalism works here: People pay for the experience they can afford.

This is an unfair tweet, and we should all be able to say that regardless of how we feel about Mamdani. At no point in the clip does he "promise" anything, or even indicate that he thinks they'll be in NYC. He gave his opinion and stated his goal. A thread.
