Pretty wild how WTI crude oil averaged $90-$100 from late 2010 to late 2014.. and everyone just assumed that was normal. Total freakout today... (even with significantly higher average and median hourly earnings)

The entire world is panicking over natural gas. Not even cost, they can’t buy it regardless of price. In the USA it’s still cheaper than it was 25 years ago. And if we had more pipelines we’d probably produce more of it. I don’t think people understand how good we have it.

⭕️I wonder how Iranian monarchists feel about President Trump returning the three islands (Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb) to the UAE. ⭕️The three small islands sit right at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. The last Shah ordered the Navy to occupy them in 1971. ⭕️The UAE has claimed them ever since, especially since Arab tribes inhabited the Greater Tunb and the others. ⭕️By returning them to the UAE, the US can establish a military base there and control the Hormuz Strait for decades to come.

🔺 NEWS: Iran’s parliament moves toward formalizing plan to charge tolls in Strait of Hormuz The head of parliament’s Civil Commission said Iran is pursuing legislation to formalize its sovereignty, control, and supervision over the Strait of Hormuz and introduce tolls for ships passing through it, creating a new source of national revenue, according to Fars. He said a draft has been prepared but has not yet reached the full proposal stage. Lawmakers aim to send it to the Parliament’s Research Center next week for legal review before advancing it once sessions resume. Under the plan, vessels would be charged for transit in exchange for security, with the official arguing the strait should be treated like other international corridors where tolls are routinely paid.

Why was $100-$120 Brent fine from 2011-2014 But now in 2026 when vehicles are more fuel efficient, we have much higher renewable usage, and the inflation adjusted price is much lower, Is the economy totally at risk from $100-$120 Brent?

When I was consulting for @HBO Silicon Valley, zero-loss compression was the holy grail Richard Hendricks chases that perfect middle-out algo could shrink everything w/out breaking a single bit. Google just did something even more practical for the AI era: TurboQuant compresses LLM key-value caches down to 3 bits per value using random orthogonal rotation + PolarQuant scalar quantization & optional 1-bit QJL residual correction. =>> 6× memory reduction, up to 8× faster attention (on H100), & 0 degradation on LongBench, Needle-in-a-Haystack, and RULER for models like Gemma. No retraining, no calibration needed. Fiction just got out-engineered by reality. 😅💚💚
