The best athletes want to be coached. They embrace discipline, instruction, and feedback because they know these things help them improve and reach their goals.

Hard coaching means someone believes in you and your ability to improve. Great players don’t see it as an attack. They see it as the ultimate compliment.

Sports make a great game - but a terrible God. Listen carefully if you’re an athlete… One day the season will end. One day the career will end. One day the applause will stop. If your identity is in the game, you’ll feel lost when the game is gone. But if your identity is in God, the game simply becomes a platform. Sports are meant to be played. They were never meant to be worshipped. Train hard. Compete with excellence. Honor God with your effort. But never forget: Your purpose is bigger than your performance. “You shall have no other gods before me.” {Exodus 20:3}

Idaho State's Gus Etchison broke out for a season high today for 30 points The 5'10 senior had 30 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists on 10-16 FG, 4-7 3PT in 27 minutes Gus is averaging 8 PPG and 1.7 APG in just 12 MPG in conference play, a truly high level scoring talent at this level, today was the first game all season where he's played more than 25 minutes in a game.
