Khatoun Salma was a well-known poet in Lebanon. Last week, she was killed, along with her husband, by an Israeli airstrike. Her daughter, Ghida, found a handwritten, unpublished poem by her mother in the rubble. She read it to Channel 4 News.

Translating Falasteen (Palestine)
A young Palestinian girl Masa in Masafer Yatta, in the southern West Bank, tells a passerby she is too scared to go to school because Israeli occupation army vehicles have moved into the area. When asked where she is headed instead, she says she wants to go to her father. This the daily life in Masafer Yatta, a cluster of Palestinian communities in the South Hebron Hills that the Israeli occupation has designated "Firing Zone 918" for decades as a tool of ethnic cleansing. Just days ago, Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition and tear gas at a Palestinian shepherd in the area, while in March, Israeli occupation forces kidnapped three brothers after Israeli colonial terrorists attacked their homes. Occupation forces also demolished residential structures and a sheep barn in the area that same month. For the children of Masafer Yatta, the threat is not abstract, it is parked outside their school gates. jaradat.sari (IG)

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran's President Calls Out the World's Double Standard on Nuclear Energy Nuclear weapons for Israel, war on Iran for a peaceful nuclear program. If Iran must disarm, why does Israel get to keep 200 nuclear warheads with zero accountability?

I believe the death penalty is wrong. But far-right politicians in Israel found a way to make it even more unjust and morally reprehensible: by passing a law that would apply it almost exclusively to Palestinians. This is abhorrent. Anyone involved in carrying out this directive should be sanctioned by the United States government. It is long past time to put our money where our mouth is and impose consequences for the Israeli government’s ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories and two-tiered system of justice.
B'Tselem בצלם بتسيلم@btselem

Israeli lawmakers opened bottles of champagne last night (Monday, March 30), to celebrate the introduction of the death penalty for Palestinians into Israeli law. Since October 2023, Israel has killed at least 72,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and at least 1,050 in the West Bank. During this time, more than 80 Palestinian have died in Israeli prisons, which have become a network of torture camps where inmates are subjected to continuous abuse and violence. The Death Penalty Law is another tool Israel is using to kill Palestinians.

Channel 4 News was at the scene of an airstrike in Lebanon that hit near a hospital just moments after a team of paramedics attended a funeral for one of their colleagues in Nabatieh. It comes as President Trump has announced that a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will begin later tonight. More than a million people have been displaced by the Israeli invasion of the south, while airstrikes have struck across the country, targeting villages and major cities.

⚠️So this is the “deal.” Israel just leaked what it calls a “declaration” reached with Lebanon. In reality, it is a surrender document. Lebanon is ordered to disarm Hezbollah, eliminate all non-state armed groups, & ensure only the Lebanese army can bear arms. In exchange? A 10-day “goodwill pause” that Israel can cancel at any moment. No Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. No end to buffer zones. No commitment to stop the destruction. This is not a ceasefire. This is Israel demanding that Lebanon do what the IDF failed to achieve on the battlefield, ‘crush’ Hezbollah’s military power, while Israel keeps the right to strike whenever it chooses. The Lebanese government has still not issued a single word confirming or denying this text. Silence here is dangerous. This is not peace talks. This is asking Lebanon to tear itself apart so Israel can get what it wants through ‘diplomacy.’ Beyond shameful.

#Peace is not something we must invent: it is something we must embrace by accepting our neighbor as a brother or sister. We do not choose our brothers and sisters: we must simply accept one another! We are one family, inhabiting the same home: this wonderful planet that ancient cultures have cared for over millennia. #ApostolicJourney #Cameroon

Lebanon is being destroyed. My homeland is being destroyed. Israel has destroyed nearly 38,000 Lebanese homes, almost 1,100 every day for 35 days. Israel has targeted 120 ambulances and medical facilities, killed at least 91 health personnel and wounded 208. Israel has killed 7 journalists and 3 UN peacekeepers. Israel has bombed all bridges. Detonating schools. Towns and villages flattened. Israel has killed over 2,200 and displaced more than 1.3 million people, including 400,000 children. This not only violates the Geneva Conventions, but violates the whole of international law with absolutely no consequences. How many more Lebanese need to be murdered? How many more children need to be killed? How many more journalists and health workers have to be killed? How many more people have to be displaced? How many more hospitals and schools have to be bombed? Before we force Israel to stop?

🚨BREAKING: Hezbollah MP Ibrahim Moussawi tells me, "We will be respecting the ceasefire," and says the deal is based on the original agreement between the US and Iran that a ceasefire would apply to Lebanon. FULL COMMENTS of Ibrahim Moussawi, Member of Lebanese Parliament, Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc: "They went back to the same ceasefire agreement that has been reached to in Islamabad by the Iranian initiative. "We will be respecting the ceasefire and we will deal with it cautiously, actually. And the Israelis have to abide by it completely, comprehensively in all of the Lebanese territories, including the areas bordering Palestine. And it should include total cessation of the hostilities and restraint to the movement of the Israelis to stop their assassinations. And it should hopefully be a beginning of a course of the Israeli withdrawal from our occupied territories."

Parts of Gaza and Lebanon are being flattened and reduced to rubble. Thousands of innocent children have been killed. Millions of people displaced. And before anyone says “But, Hamas, Hezbollah”…Imagine if Britain had done the same to Ireland after the IRA bombings? Atrocities of this magnitude cannot be justified.

The international community’s collective survival now hinges on one non-negotiable priority: forcing Israel to dismantle its undeclared nuclear arsenal and submit it to full IAEA inspections. This is the only rational response to a regime that has spent decades proving, in real time and on live television, that it cannot be trusted with weapons of mass destruction. Look at the record. Israel stands accused before the International Court of Justice of committing genocide in Gaza. It has carried out relentless aggression against its neighbors, repeatedly violating ceasefires, assassinating officials on foreign soil, and bombing civilian infrastructure with impunity. Its forces have been credibly documented committing war crimes on an industrial scale—targeting hospitals, schools, journalists, and aid convoys—while its political leadership openly boasts about collective punishment. Israel treats international law as a suggestion for weaker nations, not a binding constraint on itself. UN resolutions, Geneva Conventions, ICJ orders, ICC arrest warrants are all ignored with a smirk and a shrug. This is the same regime that maintains an apartheid system of control over millions of Palestinians—separate roads, separate laws, separate rights—condemned by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and even Israeli human rights organizations. Systematic disregard for human dignity is state policy. And yet the West continues the obscene exceptionalism. While other states face sanctions, scrutiny, ultimatums and military attacks for solvable disagreements, Israel is handed billions in weapons, diplomatic cover, and the absurd right to threaten nuclear annihilation while denying it even possesses the bombs. That hypocrisy is no longer sustainable. A regime with this abysmal track record—apartheid, war crimes, genocide, ICC proceedings and a century-long pattern of expansionist aggression—has forfeited any moral or strategic claim to weapons of mass destruction. No exceptions. No more “strategic ambiguity.” No more looking the other way while a rogue nuclear power lectures the world about “existential threats” it manufactured through its own brutality. The international community must treat Israel’s nuclear program as the clear and present danger it is. Sanctions until full disarmament. Immediate suspension from international forums. A global coalition to enforce NPT adherence without the usual double standards. Anything less is complicity in the single greatest security risk on the planet today. The time for polite diplomatic language is over. Israel’s nukes are a loaded gun in the hands of wanted war criminals and serial arsonists. The world cannot afford to keep pretending otherwise.
