At this point there is zero excuse or rationale for any candidate who is not unabashedly pro-trans rights. If it means a lost election, then we lose elections.

just look at Elon Musk’s private texts that were released this isn’t some strategic genius move it’s a bunch of out-of-touch weirdos angry at “woke culture” and thinking the rest of the world shares their bizarre fixations on this stuff
Matt Binder@MattBinder

reminder that Elon Musk and his ex-wife Talulah Riley texted back-and-forth about buying Twitter (before he publicly offered to)...because Babylon Bee got suspended lol twitter.com/Fritschner/sta…

It’s not just that this phenomenon can be documented, is that Fox’s agenda setting power is so significant that “objective” outlets scramble to launder the same narrative in less overtly partisan terms for less ideological audiences

Great news everyone, "America's Crime Crisis" (trademark Fox News) is over! All it took was Election Day eliminating the perceived political benefit of talking about crime all the time, go figure. mediamatters.org/fox-news/foxs-…

1. It's astonishing how wrong so many of the predictions of a 'red wave/tsunami' were. I for one am fed up with pundits and commentators getting things so, so wrong & then just... moving on. So here's a thread/reminder of some of the worst midterm predictions. Read/share/enjoy:

probably not going to happen but seems like political press should devote some of that “are democrats hopelessly out of touch” energy to a republican party that still struggles to build anything like a national majority for its program

i want stories about how voters were turned off by republican blood and soil rhetoric and they were repulsed by stephen millers racist ads about a war on white people. i want stories about how handing the keys to the gop to tucker carlson and charlie kirk is killing the party

They got to me. I am upset that this election is apparently turning on a calculated rightwing propaganda campaign of lying about crime, and mainstream outlets’ reporters and editors feel good about chiming in with “it is kinda a vibe tho to say that about nyc.” Fully dislike it.

Got to give it up: the worst people on earth knew what they were doing in rebranding every stupid and roundly discredited political ugliness, the worst ideas with the biggest body counts in human history, as "the brave and edgy thing that the snobs don't want you to say."

20 years ago today our first show, CLONE HIGH, debuted. Seems about time to unfreeze the clones. They'll be fully thawed out in 2023 on HBOMax.

I used to live on the same block as an NYPD precinct, and I want to share a little bit about that block now that I've moved away, because nothing shows so clearly how our money is going to all the wrong places. So here's a little thread.

I wish we could operate in a world where we can call bad things, bad. I would love for us to be able to call out problematic behavior and rhetoric, address it, curb it out, and become better. It would be swell if, when other issues are brought up, they could be acknowledged 1/X

the main effect of dropping the pretense has not been that people recoil in horror but that they revel in the ability to live vicariously through expressions of base cruelty and malice
nick@unionnick

@jbouie why? if kari lake doesn’t give a shit that pelosi’s home was invaded (or thinks it was good) that’s a valuable data point for voters. republicans have always been this depraved, but dropping the guise of decency only functions to draw their actual beliefs into the light

i went to a halloween party last night dressed as a lumberjack and convinced 5 strangers to download @MARVELSNAP. you might think this approach isn't scalable BUT I told them to each get 5 more people to download it etc etc so we're should be all set, marketing-wise
